Due to continued work at home and limited need to drive even locally, our well equipped 2021 Taycan 4S (ice grey/chalk) has become a garage queen. So, we have decided to sell it and reallocate the money to other priorities. I'm looking for advice on the best ways to sell it for a fair price and safely. I am not interested in doing a private party sell where I meet strangers and allow them to test drive the car. I saw a referral to Tred on one of the classified ads on this board, and will check them out. I have also considered calling local Porsche dealers to see what they will offer for the car.

Other ideas/suggestions?

Use a reliable auto broker? We've used a couple of different ones and been very happy. No hassle.

Dealerships are happy to pay high rates to get the on showroom floor out here. Dunno about east coast.

How does one find an auto broker?
I found one on Yelp but he works Nationwide. I could've gotten a little more doing a pvt party sale but this gentleman only works with dealerships and he sold my high dollar car to a dealership in Chicago. Paperwork, car pickup, money transfer etc were all hassle free. And he charged like a few hundred bucks. We were very satisfied.

There are some brokers who will help you do private party sales as well but we didn't want to do that. Vetting pvt parties is just not something I wanted to get into.

I'll dm you the name and website of the guy we used if you want to look him up and speak with him.

In the meantime, do call some dealers in your area and see what they say anyway.

DC is a hot market. Sell it privately on Autotrader and you'll avoid broker or dealer fees/costs.

If the KBB blue book value is close to your asking price, list it and hold the price. People will try and lowball you but in the end you'll get a fair market price. I recently sold my BMW to make room for my Taycan. I only showed it twice and got a full cash offer in a week.

See what the usual suspects will give you for the car, i.e. carvana, vroom, etc. I generally go private party. With respect to test drives, I have a rule of: Valid license, valid insurance, I'm in the car, though, for this car, the test drive rule would be that I'm driving unless you're putting 1xx,xxx in escrow.

Transactionally, deal with it at the bank and you're golden.

I think Bringatrailer.com would love to see a Taycan! I've brought and sold on that site and always had great experiences. I believe it's the largest US Auction house now and they have great assurances for sellers particularly. You are more likely to get top dollar if you're prepared to take good pictures and answer questions

in the current auto market the car may hold a lot of value, to the point that you should easily be able to break even or even turn a small profit on the car. start with porsche dealerships to see how interested they are in the car then widen the search.
the problem with the taycan is that the usual suspects, carmax, carvana might shy away from an "exotic" like the taycan.
around my part of the world local new car dealerships are paying up to acquire inventory. I could have turned an $8k profit on my wife's '18 infiniti coming off lease, because it is too hard to find a replacement I just bought the car.

Where are you located? Window sticker attached. Car also has full body and windshield PPF. 2800 miles. Garage kept and hand washed by detailer who installed PPF. Like new save for one minor scratch on left front fender.

Car has 2800 miles. Always garage kept and hand washed by detailer who installed full body and windshield PPF. There is one very minor chip in the paint on the driver's side front fender and the front bumper was repainted by the dealer due to some scotches they caused while the car was in for a software update prior to PPF (dealer probably also caused fender chip at same time, but not discovered until later after PPF applied). No mechanical issues, some of the often cited software glitches, but nothing serious. I can post pictures next week, we are traveling out of town this weekend. This is pretty close to being a showroom new car.
