I think lowering links might still be the answer to protect warranty....... unless individual mode will do the trick.
Hmm, I don't think so cuz changing the links could also void the warranty.
S/W change isn't noticable at all (unless you know where to look).
Especially when you change it back to original values.
S/W tuning is much easier.

once done, make multiple youtube videos so its all documented for the rest!
Sure.
But first things first.
I want to know what more can be done in there.
After that I have to buy the right equipment and actually change things.
First I have to talk to my friend who's a specialist in car electronics.

currently using links on my RR, zero warranty issues there.

That's very different from a big and expensive battery close to the road....

Wait....did you just say you used lowering links on an off-roader?
Seriously? 😁
hate the raising over 25mph so i did links to keep it at normal height at all times.

did larger tires/wheels but yes.

Looks amazing!

Right!
Now I know what you mean.
Had a P38 which lowered itself when doing >90kph on the highway.
Ok, when the system worked that was....
My god, those RR were awfull...
Once you fixed a problem, another one appeared....

Update: we connected the VCDS to the Taycan and indeed, it reads the car.
I also saw some control modules had fault codes but nothing that'll trigger a light on my dash.
I'll erase them later (after reading what the actual fault is of course)
We didn't change anything cuz my car is going in for the uPdate next week so I don't want to mess around (you can seriously mess up your car).

Things I've learned so far:
-VCDS is free software which you can download everywhere (check for latest version)
-The adapter (HEX V2) is not for free.
There are three versions:
3 VINs: $200 (3 cars).
10 VINs: $400
Unlimited VINs: $600.
You can also buy upgrades (3->10->unlimited): ~$150.
Once you have the adapter you'll have to register them through the VCDS program.
There are cheap clones too but I don't know if they work.
Besides, I want a genuine adapter.
I'll go for the 3VIN.
Still I haven't found a source here in Europe who sells them so I'm still searching.
I can order from the US but that's another $70 for shipping (waste of money imho).
After I have my adapter I'll report back of course.

https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/

Ross-tech is the designer of the VCDS software btw.

You can change the behaviour of a control module in different ways:
1. By checking the different checkboxes through the adaptions section (soft coding)
2. By coding. There's a code generator built in VCDS which makes it much easier to create the correct code (hard coding).
Some control modules are secured by a code, you can't access them without the proper Porsche 5-digit code.
3. By changing numbers. There's a test button to check if the number is valid.
After that you can enter them (log your old values!).

To be continued.

I have lowering links on my CT 4S and while the lowest setting is likely similar to the lowest selling on a non-CT Turbo that I've driven, the ride feels much harsher on the lowest setting which makes Range Mode kind of unuseable. Since the height is pretty close to what a stock non-CT Turbo would be, I'm wondering if the difference in comfort is in the dampers. If the dampers are still tuned for the higher mode even though the springs have been tricked into going lower, the dampening rate would be mismatched.

Does anyone know if that's the case and if there is a way to retune the dampers to match?

You can definitely feel the car (CT or sedan) firm up in low. I'm sure that's by design to keep you off the bump stops. I suspect it's difficult to program that out, and would probably cause you to hit the bump stops, especially with links. People have proved that the CT and sedan have different dampers, and while I'd like my CT to be lower, I'm afraid it will ride like crap in lowered and low, which like you said defeats range mode. I don't think there is a good solution.

Define "crap" in a Porsche.

You won't hit the bump stops.
And if you do, the road wasn't all that comfortable to drive on anyway (or you just like to drive through put holes).

Just use Individual:
-Ride height lowest.
-Chassis: normal.
Perfectly comfortable imho.
I have the sedan 10mm lowered.

Crap as in not enough travel before you find the stops. Taking 10mm away from these dampers in low puts the car on the stops, anybody denying that is lying to themselves. I had them on my sedan for 30 seconds before I knew I'd take them right back off.

Unfortunately I can't control the "comfortability" of the roads I drive on, regardless of how much tax I pay, so I'll settle for ride quality over looks.

Am I lying to myself?
Why would I do that??
I'm driving 10mm lower for two years for god's sake!
No problems whatsoever...
I really don't know what you've done to your car but it surely is different than what I've done, lol.

So are you accusing me of lying here?
Really dude, in that case you should unsubscribe from this thread right now.

I managed to order a Hex V2 adapter for 3VINs.
In my country it was only possible to order unlimited ones, that's €600...
Long story short: I found a supplier in Germany and ordered one, €305 including shipping.
So now we wait...
