1-2% an hour. So....Anyone used or have an idea how long it will take to charge a 4S Plus to 80% with NEMA 5-15 @ 120? I’ll be at a beach cabin for a few weeks with only 120. Hoping not more than two weeks! Thanks
That’s one looooooong afternoon vacation nap.P = VA. So take voltage times 80% of the max current. Divide by 1000 to get kW. 1 hour of 1kW = 1kWh.
So at 120 @ 12A you get 1.44kW per hour. Let's say your battery is near empty and you want to put 80kWh into it, that means you'll need to charge for 55+ hours.
I would say any AC charging is fine, DC up to 50KW aint going to make any difference either. The faster the charge, they more chance for a bad chemical reaction. But at the end of the day, our cars are made for rapid charge so you/me will never notice the difference.Just got my Walmart 110volt 16 amp charger and I am kinda impressed, charged from 80 percent to 99 percent overnight, next time I charge I will time it, but not bad, read a lot of articles that talk about slow charge is better, what about 110volt charge, seems cheaper and if its better for the battery why not, would like to hear others thoughts on Porsche battery life, or are the new batteries meant more for 220 for longevity
What EVSE do you have? PMC+ has a 50/100% setting, as an example. What am I doing wrong? When I plug into a 110v outlet, I get about 700 watts max. I cannot find a setting to adjust.
I have the EVSE that comes standard with the 2022 Taycan 4s. What is this PMC+ setting to which you are referring? I have set the amperage to 8, as recommended by the dealer. What EVSE do you have? PMC+ has a 50/100% setting, as an example.
photo of your charger? if you can "set" the amperage to 8 you have a PMCC (Porsche Mobile Charge Connect) - the PMC+ has a single button that is either on or off - this button sets the charging to 1/2 the rating for the current plug adapter on the charger.I have the EVSE that comes standard with the 2022 Taycan 4s.
