Sadly, Porsche has the rest of their lineup to protect.

In the US, the spread between the 911 4S and the Turbo is $50k. Hopefully, this same spread will apply to the Taycan putting the Taycan 4S at around $100k to start before options.

The 911 4S, the relevant S to the Turbo line, starts at $112k+. Also requires more options than a Turbo, which closes the gap further. The pricing is almost exactly the same for a Taycan and 911 4.

The Taycan S will start $110k base plus and add 3k alone to get reasonable tires.

Very very surprised that the US price is higher than that in Euro (after taking out tax): 152136 Euro is 167724 USD incl. tax and 141000 USD before tax. That would be have been a good price. 10% more in the US vs Germany is really unusual. One has to wonder how much they are trying to protect their ICE models.

Or hedging against the threat of tariffs.

Yeah. I can't do it at that price. I don't want an EV THAT badly. I'm out.
they haven’t announced the 4S model, which will be significantly less, but possibly not available until next year. Money is just buying time here. The tech is improving very quickly, and prices will come down pretty fast. Audi, Mercedes and Tesla are all going to compete in this space. There will be a revised Model S eventually, to say nothing about the 2020 roadster.

part of what you’re seeing now is a lot of pent up market demand driving prices. Give it some time, and you’ll see much more attractive prices.

I suspect it’s more about anticipated demand. Prices for 2020 are high in the US because they can. CA is the 8th largest economy in the world by itself and it has some immense interest in both Tesla and not-Tesla-EV. Based on Model S sales, Porsche could sell out its entire 2020 production run in CA alone. Hypothetically.

Too pricey for me. Electric cars are like any other technology, they become out dated quickly. I'm sure the performance would be fun for a while, but my motorcycle is fun enough for me.

same. too pricey. But lets see what the base/4s price will be. But as it stands, Tesla or the upcoming bmw i4/i7, whatever will be called or even the tron GT and upcoming Jaguar EV sedan seem better choices
