59 Year old who desperately wants one as well. Just do a two-door version of the Taycan and call it a day. I think that would be amazing.....and don't overlook the 80 year old tech geezers like me.
I want my 718 E asap!
I agree on most of this. The issue for me is however that Porsche fails to fix the problems the car have. I honestly don't mind a basic SW featureset as long as they WORK. But they don't. Basic stuff like like the navigation is now broken on (at least european) Taycans. Postponing a new generation while seemingly already having abandoned work on the existing cars seems like giving up entirely.Software, range….
Steering, damping, road holding, sportiness, cornering feel, comfort, body, rigidity, overall driving experience, braking, pedal feel, seating position, material quality, enjoyment factor, brand identity. THESE make a car. Especially drivers car.
I understand that people rather travel from A to B than enjoying the way, but Porsche was never about it.
Maybe too many people bought Porsche who should not since not understanding the brand.
Porsche has proved with the Taycan, an EV can be more than just a software on wheels. That is sad people can't appreciate the DRIVE anymore, want rather a rolling self driving software.
Taycan is the only one real CAR on the EV market. I drove most of them, no competition.
It's not all tax, China was the cash cow for Porsche, and they NEVER had to invest anything in China, no factory there, 100% import!Taxation of China is off topic.
My well optioned Taycan GTS was EUR155k, My 992.2 GT3 EUR232k. Incl. VAT. So what...
You can trash talk this all you want! Fact is: The Chinese dump a new model every 6 months, Porsche needs 3 years and then takes a complete U-Turn. WTF?What a disgustingness. These people have no idea about style.
I think MG brand. Don't care.Whats’s that & does it come in yellow?
It took me about 6 hours initial driving to realize that the built in navigation is an absolute joke. I never use it now and rely instead on Google/Apple maps through Apple carplay. The only issue is prewarming of the battery during winter that require the built in navigation. But that's another day...... I'm an old sod and really don't need most of the fancy stuff as long as the car takes me comfortably to where I want to go.Basic stuff like like the navigation is now broken on (at least european) Taycans.
MG Cyberster (and yes, MG is now Chinese). Seems to be the only electric coupe/conv currently on the marketWhats’s that & does it come in yellow?
Porsche is all about 'Made In Germany'. Would be a huge risk to outsource it.It's not all tax, China was the cash cow for Porsche, and they NEVER had to invest anything in China, no factory there, 100% import!
As a customer, I couldn’t give a rats ass where the car is made, as long as it’s good and a good deal.Porsche is all about 'Made In Germany'. Would be a huge risk to outsource it.
Especially they do not have a factory not only in China but nowhere else with an expectation of Cayenne that is assembled in Slovakia. As you said, you are German, I do not understand your China bias and sensitivity.
As a German local patriot you should be happy to keep workplaces in Germany.
I am sure the factory do not sell the cars on higher price to its key market China than EU or NA or elsewhere. So I am afraid the extremely high prices you mentioned is due to of taxation.
Anyway as a German guy, why didn't you buy your Taycan in Germany on nearly half price than you bought it in China?
Agreed most of it up to the point it is balanced and not biased. As a customer, I couldn’t give a rats ass where the car is made, as long as it’s good and a good deal.
Don’t care if Germans lose their jobs; if they can’t make good products, then though luck.
Isn’t this what a global economy is all about? The best product wins.
