I’m new to the forum (although I did read through it in occasion whilst waiting for my 4s to arrive on Christmas Eve). Has anyone seen this error and been able to sort it. I can’t link the mobile connect charge to my Myporsche ID. It doesn’t go as far as the QR code in the setup and I get this error (see attached). I can’t find anything online.
Help much appreciated!

I've just got around to testing/setting up my PMCC - had the car over 2 months but not required the PMCC as I have a PodPoint Home Charger installed that has been taking care of day to day charging at home at 7.2KW. Today as I'm off work for a few days, I thought I'd take a look at the PMCC and set it up so I'm prepared for any time I do need a mobile charger - vacations etc at some point after lockdown.

Anyway, I got the same error as in screenshot above, tried a factory reset and still same problem, it's connected to my WIFI OK.
The charger does appear to work ok and I did a quick test of it plugged in at 10Amps - standard UK 3 pin and it paired ok and started charging - very slowly as expected.

Any idea how to fix and pair it with my Porsche Connect account (and car) - not sure what I'm actually missing out of when it can't connect to Porsche Servers?
I has the same problem on my actual Taycan after delivery and the PCM that required going back into the dealership to fix, after they consulted with Germany HQ - they had it for 2 days, after that my Porsche Connect - fingers crossed has been fine, I wonder if some other setup/being paired to your car happens at the factory also for the PMCC and they screwed that up at build time too?
Any ideas?

You need to login with your Porsche Connect ID on the PMCC and it will then authenticate on the Porsche servers to pick up your details and close the loop with My Porsche and Porsche Connect App - have you already performed this step with the correct password?

Also, you need to deactivate the PLC option (service / tech mode - password in the envelope you received) as this can cause issues. If you have a good WiFi connection then that's all you need. PLC is for wired connections across your electric circuits if you have pre-existing at home.

Check your password and check that you can logon to My Porsche website (ties into your VIN number). If it works there then it should work on the PMCC (same credentials username / password).

Car should also be logged in with your Porsche Connect ID (one time task) again with the same credentials.

It won't bring up the USER profile section as it thinks it's not connected to the Porsche Servers. Interestingly via the Web Portal of the PMCC, I have disabled PLC connection, on the Network section it thinks it doesn't have Internet Connectivity, It's connected to my WiFi fine and I don't have any internet connectivity problems on any of my other devices, I work in Tech and have probably 20+ devices connected over a mixture of Ethernet and Wireless that all work fine. It has both an IPv4 and IPV6 address, I think the error being reported is false, in that I expect the device does have internet connectivity fine but the Porsche Server's aren't authenticating it or whatever other network beacon the PMCC uses to determine Internet connectivity.
I suppose I could stick wireshark on and have a look at the traffic, if I wanted to be sure, either way I think it's the same Porsche Authentication connection problem that was broke in my PCM on delivery that they had to reset at German HQ the Event Manager error on the maintenance menu is 0x40100 "backend server authentication fehler" nice mix of English and German there :) from the Porsche dev's.

Basically looks like another Porsche Software/Setup bug.
I doubt I'm missing anything by not having it

It may relate to the QR step not being complete.

Try a full factory reset on PMCC and start over if not already tried this.

Could your firewall be blocking it?

Try using your phone as a hotspot and bypass your own router (and start over) to see if you can get passed your current point. Once connected and registered it's usually pretty reliable.

So bizarrely I had this error a day after I made my last post to this thread.

I simply power cycled the PMCC and all was fine again (good old IT Helpdesk trick or what!?).

I'm guessing you have done this several times (?) and in which case the unit could well be faulty.

At this point I would return to Porsche and seek a replacement.

I’m going to try and deactivate the PLC and see if that works ?

Have you gone through all the setup with Porsche Connect ID and have all services been activated?

Check My Porsche online to see what status your account and services are in.

Ok so it does take some time until all are activated (I waited 8 days in total). For the ones which are activated have you accepted all terms and conditions (My Porsche)?

From memory you also need to switch off privacy mode in the vehicle for each account you have (don't use Guest as you will be limited to what you can do).

Have you downloaded and read the the relevant Porsche Good To Know Connect section as this should guide you through all steps?

I get those ALL the tie and I simply ignore it. I hate this unit. It is finicky, sometimes simply stops communicating until power cycled (and yes its latest firmware) and offers no advantage. My $300 “dumb” 40amp EVSE is so much better and more reliable. If I wasn’t sure it was futile I would return this and get my money back.

I think the PMCC is good (acknowledging that mine was free due to supply issues on the PMC Plus) and does exactly what it is designed to do.

I've attached a useful 'how to' guide for connect which may / may not be of use to folk having issues as some of these (in my opinion) are basic setup steps which haven't been completed in full.
