The other trick I’ve seen is they give you a very nice loaner. I’ve got friends that have gone in for a service and ended up buying a new car :/ Lambo did it to me a couple of times, but when I didn’t bite they stopped :(
IME OPC trade in offers are derisory (based on vehicles bought from new with FPSH). The only exception is if you’re trading in for something they want rid off or your car is rare/desirable (which is unlikely to be the case with a Taycan). In short you won’t be losing much if OPCs don’t want it...
Good luck 🤞sometimes you get lucky (at someone else’s expense) with depreciation.
But usually if a car’s lost 45%, whilst the curve will flatten it will still be pretty steep. Of course now the % depreciation applies to a smaller sum.
Really the only thing I’d be interested in is the warranty. But I’m not sure how much margin the OPCs have on the warranty.
Also I contacted an OPC about a car wrt to battery SoH and they came back pretty quick with 91%. Which is an encouraging given my previous experience trying to get this...
How much did they charge for the pre-warranty inspection?
I got the warranty cost from Brooklands last time my Cayenne was in for service. But forgot to ask about that.
They list the reg, so I’ve been sticking it in WBAC to get an idea of what they likely paid. As per my previous post OPCs offers have always been below my own WBAC quotes. And friends have said the same.
Ofcourse they might have had the car a while, but I’m looking at new ones that pop up. As...
Yep OPC trade in offers are derisory. Every time mine goes in for service they try their luck (probably because of the very low mileage) but give up when I tell them WBAC’s offer.
Fortunately WBAC/Motorway are still offering good money for mine 🤞, so I don’t have to worry about trade in unless...
Also where did you search. Looking on AT the Indi prices aren’t far off OPC for ST/CT once I factor in paying for a 2y warranty.
Ofcourse an Indi might budge on price more.
Thanks, it’s probably not something I’ll prioritise given I’ll charge at home and not get near running out of juice.
Folding mirrors aren’t going to be standard on the cars I’m looking at then :( Annoying a lot of cars don’t seem to have that box ticked given the width of the car.
Thanks for the detailed response. My thought process, in the context of 2k annual mileage (3k max if I do a UK break) is:
PB+ - I won’t need it, but as you say selling it in a few years may be a PITA
400V DC to DC converter - I won’t need it, but will it matter come resale?
Air Suspension -...
You need to be methodical and collect as many metrics as possible. Not only for this forum but more importantly should you need to argue with Porsche within the rejection window (better to have/start this argument sooner).
1) Charge it fully.
2) Stick the OBD on and take a picture of the...
