I hope that's not the case because apparently the 12V battery is not under warranty (even though my car still is, Porsche says the 12V battery is not covered - which would be a mess because that fail was due to the OBC fail). Here in Portugal, replacing the 12V battery costs roughly 2000 Euros...
I experienced this same issue last week. I'm based in Portugal. I was offered 1-year of Porsche Warranty on top of the current warranty for having a downgrade on the original OBC (on board charger) - in my case from 22Kw to 11Kw. In reality I would probably never use 22Kw at home and rarely out...
Driving in Range mode is bad for tires? I'm not sure what will be better: have less range, stop for charging and pay for it every now and then, or have a big bill to new tires
Thank you @Argo. It makes sense but maybe it is dependent on the specific market? Other forum members are giving different answers. I think I will have to ask my Porsche dealer for the exact rules in Portugal. As soon as Indi, I will provide feedback here. Thanks again!
Sure! I won't! I will use the one you mentioned. Thanks again!
Quick last question: for the rebalancing, is it important to have the car charged to 100%?
Quick question regarding the rebalance: shall I charge the car to 100%?
@RBGtaycan I hope you’re right about winter killing range… I bought my car used with 2 and a half years old and just 20,500 Km (less than 13.000 miles). Hopefully the battery is still good to great. Here in Portugal it is...
Agree! 1% variation is good enough to me too :)
Now, it seems there is a "rebalance procedure"?! OMG!!! I'm learning so much here! And I'm loving it because my background is in IT and this car looks more and more like a computer with wheels :CWL:
Amazon is telling me my OBDII device will...
That's good to know! I thought it would be a reliable data point... I will have my OBDII device in a couple of days.
So the OBDII device together with Car Scanner app will actually give me a good reading on the battery SoH? That would be great.
Done :) It now shows as "Choosing OBDII device - help needed". Please let me know if this fits better or please suggest something. As a new forum user, I want to be as helpful as possible and stick to the forum guidelines.
I'm very interested in checking battery health because I bought my Taycan used a month ago and I have used it just a handful of times, but it seems that the range is VERY small. I know the Turbo S (MY23) has a limited range but what I'm getting seems to be too small. I will post about it on a...
Since it is proven by other members that the OBDLink MX+ device works well, even though it seems to cost twice the price of the Vgate vLinker MC+, I guess I prefer to use the American based product instead of the Chinese one (even though both are probably Chinese manufactured).
Thank you all...
Thank you @SergeyIndy ! My Taycan is a J1.1 model (Turbo S Sport Turismo, MY23) so it should work. I guess I'me going to bite the bullet and get the OBDLink MX+ device :)
I'm considering to buy an OBDII to read data from my card. I never used such device before. Will it break any possible warranty from Porsche?
It seems the OBDLink MX+ device together with iOS app "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" is the way to go, based on some posts I read here in the forum. Anyone...
