Negative Nancy question from me!
How does a company like VW reckon with a revolutionary change in how cars are designed from top to bottom with a workforce that was never educated and trained for the new processes? The physical design, the way the physical pieces are produced and put together...
8 years ago I would have never been able to guess where I am in life right now. Barring that incredible uncertainty, I plan on keeping this car for a very, very long time.
Shared platforms for ICE and EV is outdated and a tragic sign of Porsches misunderstanding of the market trends. So glad to be rocking a future legacy jewel with my Taycan.
I don't know how anyone could go back to a gas car after purchasing an EV (except those with charging access troubles). Strictly better performance, never stopping at a gas station, etc.
The good news is we can keep our Taycans for quite many years and by then, if not Porsche, someone will have made a car we can jump to and love.
They really are going all in on the budget Ferrari persona. I wonder what their plan is for 2035 and beyond. Move production to the US and solely mark...
Even ignoring competition, what will they do about emissions regulations?
This is the most shortsighted strategy they could possibly come up with. So deflating. This might be my first and last Porsche.
Instead of navigating the future, they are simply clinging onto the past and will be left...
Ah, that's a bummer. I suppose I just need to wait to see the final car before making judgement. I do hope it has a nice curvy design (I suppose it won't have the rear spoiler that was shown in the picture either).
I do wonder though, IF the GTS still sits at 3.5 0-60 or slower, if Porsche is...
I have the MapEV tune so the delta is a bit more than that. :)
I'm not a big fan of Lambo designs, actually. I love the way my Taycan looks for instance, and the promo picture shown in the (now taken down) pages looks way sexier than the bulky, fake-panel car pictures we've been seeing. I...
Cutting 100,000 jobs is absolutely insane. It's incredible how much the foundation of the car industry is being shaken and broken by China.
It's huge news when Meta and Microsoft lay off ~5,000 and this is 20x that.
This is fascinating to me. As someone who grew up driving automatic transmission, none of this resonates with me at all. I've never listened to my car to tell me speed. I've never used the physical pullback from being high in a gear nor the loud sounds of being high in a gear as any sort of...
I also wasn't sure if #2 worked (if the sound was loud enough), but I did experiment with it last Halloween. I turned it on in my neighborhood when I came near a large party of trick-or-treaters, and every single one of them turned to look at me. I'm guessing the sound was indeed loud enough and...
Maybe explicitly to reach the audience of car buyers who hate EVs. Porsche is not developing this for EV enthusiasts. they want to convince petrol heads that EVs can be cool. So they should target the influencers who think it's cool to hate on EVs - as long as they're able to convince them...
