I think the update as such fixes the problems but there is a possibility that the update doesn’t apply properly, resulting in some data corruption which causes the issues people have been having.
I’m not sure they can do much to prevent that chance, it’s a result of the crappy underlying...
As far as we know (as of today), the problem first raised its head in July 2025. It affected initially people in the Netherlands and other countries with an early expansion to a dense charging network. Eventually it appeared to have expanded to cause issues across most of (western) Europe.
The...
Yep, mine was in a week or two ago here in the Netherlands - to swap the wheels over for summer and I had the same info from my dealer (who had actually been saying this privately to me for 2 months…..)
My OPC were pretty dismissive of the 3885 update when I went in for the 12v issue and pretty much implied it was a waste of time and to wait for June when they have been informed there will be a solution.
They are as unimpressed with Porsche as us.
I had the car in because the 12v battery died - they restarted it and applied the 12v battery update and on the way home my car also asked for the same OTA update. I let it happen. I think a stuck OTA update has been causing issues with a few people recently.
Nothing exploded.
My dealer...
I was in my local Porsche centre yesterday for a 12V issue and I asked about the navigation problems and they said they were very aware of the issue and had been informed by Porsche to expect a fix in June……..
One thing i see here in Holland is the map display constantly changing which (irrelevant) chargjng points it wants to display. It is actually quite distracting and looks like the display is flickering when it is simply trying to show multiple charging points in close proximity.
I can easily...
I reckon it’s to do with the huge number of charging points available and (as I think Jasper mused) a poor software implementation which tries to display too many of them at once, constantly updates irrelevant charging point usage and probably has a very poor route recalculation algorithm.
It...
If that’s the case (and we’ve had a few of us speculate it’s a memory issue), then I sincerely hope there is some form of compensation for the 9-12 months of useless software which is well below that expected of a premium brand.
So it’s the famous TI 65/23 plus update to the latest PCM (3884 I guess) which my Porsche centre have been asked to perform in my car. Time to call them for an appt.
I wonder when they can fit me in!
I just received a response from Porsche that they will inform my local Porsche center of the procedure to ‘hopefully’ correct the issue and schedule an appointment to do so. They said I would be cc’d with the procedure too so I’m aware of what will be carried out.
Let’s see if it’s anything new...
The problem is not just that it’s a crash useless waste of space but that it was actually pretty good up until sometime in July this year when something changed and it all went bad!
I have also noticed it getting worse and worse. It used to hang and catch up occasionally, then it would crash...
Is it something bonkers like the fact that out charging network is significantly more dense? Could explain why there are more issues in the Netherlands for example.
