Porsche auto insurance through Porsche

I just got an email about insurance through Porsche

does anyone have any experience with using Porsche as auto insurance carrier? I calculated the rates and it seemed cheaper to go with Porsche for the same coverage on my 23 taycan gts.
Possibly any benefits vs cons to go with Porsche as auto insurance company?
I wasn’t even aware they offered auto insurance…

Preatty sure it’s Zürich insurance they use; at least for Switzerland it is.

It’s a standard insurance, + some benefits such as included roadside assistance and some other stuff because you bought it through porsche.

I have it, it’s as pricey as any, so not more expensive / less expensive.

for me it was more of a comfort thing, they offered it and they handled everything

I’ve had them for exactly one year (since I got my ‘24 GTS). They were cheaper than any other option at the time. No issues whatsoever. It is one of those pay per mile kind of plans, which is fine for me as I put a reasonable number of miles on my cars (less than 10k a year).

In the Netherlands the porsche insurance is 33% higher than the insurance that I have now(€ 2900. Vs € 1950 per year)
2,5 years ago with my first Porsche they were way more competitive (cheaper)

In Germany it is HDI insurance. Almost double the price I pay now so no option.

this is what you're shown if you attempt to get a quote and list your state as CA - it's been this way since at least Aug. of 2023 when I got my GT3 RS and wanted to give it try. I check back periodically - but so far no dice.

Given that Porsche themselves are not an insurance company, this simply creates a middleman that requires a cut of your premium. Not sure why anyone would do this unless there are mfg benefits included that very special/unique. Almost everyone would be better served by bundling with your homeowners, life and umbrella insurance for the ultimate integrated coverage at the best value.

I actually looked into Porsche’s insurance when I got my Taycan. It’s basically a branded policy (usually underwritten by a partner company), but the big selling point is OEM parts and Porsche-certified repairs. That’s a plus since these cars are expensive to fix. Downside is it’s not always the cheapest long-term, even if the initial quote looks good.

Like the guy above already said: in The Netherlands they are not competitive on price. 50% premium seems to be the norm.
However they do include the insurance you normally have to buy extra on Porsche Track days etc. If you do 2+ of those a year it’s worth looking into.
That is, as far as I know, is their one unique advantage.
For my new insurance I can also choose the garage where it is fixed, it’s just 400 extra out of pocket, which probably pales in comparison to the total bill.

In the UK Porsche insurance declined to quote on my Taycan Turbo on the grounds that it was too powerful and too expensive to repair........ they did acknowledge the irony of Porsche branded insurance refusing to offer cover on one of their own vehicles. (I am a low risk profile driver with no claims on my GT Porsche in over 9 years, parking off street in a safe postcode)

I deepdived insurances just a few weeks ago. Ended up paying less than 1/3 than porsche insurance.
The benefits of porsche insurance do not outweigh this price difference. Mainly the track experience; it can be insured for 1 day for i think €400, so basically thats 5 trackdays a year in price difference!
Of course USA and Netherlands might be hugely different!

Did they provide you a list of feeble and cheap-to-repair Porsches?

Porsche provided me with a quote as part of the free 7-day drive away insurance and they were around 4 times the price of my current insurer, which also includes cover for my 996!
