Pros & Cons after 24 hours With My Taycan Turbo – By Owner

Thanks for this extended list of pros and cons. I encourage other new owners to give such lists on this forum, and to give their reports of mileage range in the real world, and to write their long-distance trip experiences (like louv/Don has been doing for weeks now on that dedicated thread).

Silver or Black window trims with Volcano - which do you prefer?

black... I don't like any silver trim on any car, inside or out

Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo Spied

LOL ... I prefer the CT over the sedan very much. That's why they make different models for different likes.

Taking One Lap of the Country in my Taycan Turbo - 10k miles in 6 weeks Cross-Country Journal

Yeah, I want the automaker of my car to tell me what updates they want to upload to the car, and why, with details, and let me answer if I want the upload or not. I don't like Tesla's model, in which people get shocked (sometimes unpleasantly) by new changes to their cars showing up unexpectedly.

They have tunnels in Flatistan?! I was thinking about reading that winter tires give as much as 10-15 percent less mileage range when compared to all-season tires, so that's another 20+ miles of range that you might have in summer when you get those snow tires off.

Taycan Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo Spied

I asked my salesman, who's going (along with every other Porsche salesman in the US, it seems) to California next week for training in the Taycan, to inquire with the HQ people about this question: Cross and/or Sport (Turismo). If there's only one of the two (meaning the CT), I'm fearful that...

I'm thinking that buying the forthcoming Cross Turismo would be a more comfortable vehicle for sleeping in the back with the seats down -- considerably more room. :sun:

Your photos are really fun and enjoyable to see. The photos alone make this thread worth the price of admission... :) And I'm probably one of the few people, like you, who'd buy a Taycan and actually sleep in it like you're doing with the seats down, in the middle of the desert. :sun: ... So I...

I'll be interested to hear the longest distance in miles that you end up going between successive charging.

    Yikes

Very funny article and thread. I live in an area with lots of luxury cars. I find that the worst drivers (defined as those who cut people off, tailgate, don't use turn signals, and run stop signs and red lights) are those of cheaper cars (often cars with MSRP much less than $30k USD). Most...

    Ground clearance on Taycan 4S?

I also wonder if the Taycan 4S will have a somewhat higher ground clearance than the Taycan Turbos. And what the difference will be between the sedan and the Cross Tursimo in this regard...

Yes, I had my dealerships turn off the rear hatch beeping sound in both my Panamera and my 2019 Macan. I have no clue why Porsche has this annoying feature.

New battery pack upgrade rumored to be coming

Exactly, and that's why I'm sitting back for at least a year to watch what happens with all the first-year Taycan owners. I understand those of you who are too impatient to wait, and I'm sure that your Taycans will give you a lot of enjoyment. But I will patiently wait and watch. :)

I'm an astronomer and work constantly with astronomers who discover comets and near-earth asteroids with those telescopes there at Haleakala (in case you were wondering how I noticed that in your photo!). I've never been to Maui, but it's high on my list to get there soon!

yeah, the snow tires should be fine; they should last 20k miles, easy... I've driven Michelin Sport winter tires on my Panamera over thousands of winter miles, and they are very quiet for long road trips -- zero complaints. Nobody should drive on summer tires when the temp is below 40 deg F...

I use an SD card instead of a USB stick for my music and it works fine, and comes on quickly. Isn't there an SD port in the Taycan?

Banff is one of my favorite places in the world for amazing scenery. And the Fairmont hotel there is quite the classic large hotel, also. Glad to see that you decided to spend the night there rather than just plow on through to Vancouver. I long to get back to Banff...

    Ground clearance on Taycan 4S?

so the Turbo has 128-mm ground clearance normal, and 148-mm ground clearance in lift mode -- corresponding to 5.0 and 5.8 inches, respectively, or about an inch lower than the Panamera 4. It will be interesting to see these figures for the 4S and the Cross Turismo

How do you find the cargo capacity for carrying six week's worth of stuff? Do you put the back seats down or keep them up? And how do you find the visibility out the rear window?
