    Range Max?

I get around 280-288 miles consistently. Mine is a RWD PB+ and I live in probably the most favorable climate for an EV.

Redshift Performance Intro - Taycan ECU Performance Packages

RWD PB+ goes to 470HP with launch control. By default it's nerfed to 400 or so HP. So you'd get LC HP every time.

Is Porsche Selling Our Driving Data?

Yeah a lot of these disclaimers are quiet about sharing with data brokers. I assume if there's no explicit disclosure saying they don't share the data, then by default they do. It's frustrating this is all opt-out and complete trudgery to get through.

Is Porsche Selling Our Driving Data?

Latest carplay integration also shows your max speed and max Gs. So this means CarPlay stores: 1. Maximum speed per trip 2. Coordinates of said trip 3. Time stamps 4. Your apple ID which is tied to you Digging into OP's link, CarPlay shares the following: Meaning that at some point in the...

Pictures of the 2025 Taycan Turbo from SXSW

Tbh I was surprised I didn’t hate it. It still looks good in person, just not hot like the current gen does.

Agreed, the rear doesn’t have the same design language as the front. I’m a product designer by trade and that kind of aesthetic mismatch is really messing with my OCD

Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

I remember reading somewhere that Taycans are a loss leader for Porsche.

Decided to pop over to the Porsche lounge at SXSW in Austin. Thought y'all may appreciate an IRL zoom in of the new face:

    iOS 17.4 and navigation

Is this coming to present Taycans, or only to Taycan 2.0?

    Faulty cupholders?

This happened to me 3 months into owning it. I just left it there since I can’t be bothered prying it out and don’t want to deal with the dealer arguing about it. I agree it should be a warranty claim since you can’t jam anything in wider than the diameter of the hole.

    ALK > ALK + LKA

huh I just tried ALK with LKA off and it maintains the center-lane position better. Definitely less zigzagging.

Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

I'm surprised there hasn't been more consolidation in this space for a carOS with standardized UX patterns and interoperability. Google and Apple are kind of dabbling with it, but no direct player has come forward with a solid proposal.

    That 2025 facelift

Agreed, the top (or left if you're on desktop) one integrates the flows and curves into the overall shape, and generally looks more exotic and aesthetically pleasing.

Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

I think because batteries don't have a particular feel to them. Batteries are closer to fuel than an engine or motor. Lithium ion is a means of storing energy, akin to gas. If you get a 911 from 1989 you don't necessarily want to put an engine from 2024 in it. 30 years from now if a denser...

Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

My point of view is an internal combustion engine is kind of like a timestamp of that particular era when it was manufactured. Fixing it also doesn't require swapping the entire unit out and you can do it piecemeal if it wasn't maintained properly. A battery is just out when it's out, and...

Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

I love the Taycussy but the next ride I’m getting is a 911 if things stay stable in my life. I keep coming back to the idea that had I gotten a 911 1 year ago, upgrading to a new ride would cost very little. I am so glad I leased the Taycan, because I can just get out of the commitment next...

    Taycan re-sale issues

I went with a lease as well, my residual was 70% for a 2 year lease for a 120k MSRP. I think I got lucky there… I will have paid $40k over the course of the ownership of the vehicle, and then I can just let the dealer have it. Overall, pretty decent IMO
