Sure, I'm interested in understanding better the underlying software platform, but I have a bit of experience with these type of systems, so I know full well the havoc you could create by "trial and error" of the options available ;-)
I never saw anything like this. It does not look like any crack I ever saw, more like a defect in the manufacturing.
I’m pretty sure that your service center will be able to fix it
Additional updates, I collected the car, and the everything was as when it came from factory. The workshop did a great job, and the car was just for a day and a half in the shop. The service rep kept me up to date, and I could not be happier.
Everything is fine, including all the assistance...
Actually, I'd like to know what functions the home manager offers...any way I can look at the manual or feature set? I'm trying to look for it, but without luck
Guys, short update. The service rep. was great, and proactively got the windshield (apparently there was only 1 spare in Spain). I took the car yesterday, and I was informed that the job is already done, including alignment of cameras, checks of the seals, etc. I will be able to get it back...
Sorry to hear that...sounds painful. This is one of the reasons why I do not like panoramic glass roof.
My dealer already located a replacement windscreen in the country, so it should not take that long
I contacted my local dealer and got an appointment next week. I had a short chat with the service rep and he confirmed that for these type of fractures they will do a full OEM replacement. Assuming that they do not have any stock problems, next week I'll take my Taycan to get it done.
I'll let...
Wow. So soon...I hope it did not spoil the experience. Star shaped cracks can be repaired easily, I learned. What you describe is the kind of hassle with insurance companies I’d like to avoid.
Thanks for the advice! Your windshield cracked just because of the sunlight? I'd thought they they made them a bit better these days...
Anyway, I did a bit of research, and the type of crack, extending to the border of the windshield compromise the structural integrity. The typical Autoglass...
I also got a Panamera e-hybrid as a loaner while they did the WLH5 on my Turbo. The Panamera is a great car, but frankly, we have been spoilt with the Taycan...it is in a completely different dimension. I also cannot see myself buying another ICE after the Taycan...they seem...antiquated.
Thanks for the feedback...I can check with my insurance company (German, although my car is now in Spain with me). I hope they will be so understanding as yours
Last weekend, while driving my Turbo on the highway, all of a sudden something collided with my windshield (a big truck was on the opposite lane a second or so earlier). Although it seemed that everything was ok, after I arrived and on closer inspection, I could see an impact and a crack that...
