I am coming up for three years. Heater failed early on and the brakes, but otherwise has been excellent. Add to that Porsche opened a new garage local to me, so the support is excellent. My frustration, as we all share, is in the "value". I went for a fully-specced Turbo with Burmester etc on...
Octopus seems to work well, my only gripe is it screws-up the pre-heat of the car. So I have to manually warm each morning. Any suggestions to rectify?
I have Burmester and had a base Taycan with Bose as a loaner for a couple of days. Burmester is vastly superior, it is just a question as to whether you value the difference at £3k. I do as I look forward to listening everyday, but others will not. Burmester has never rattled the doors - so I...
Be very interested to gear, mine is due in a month or so. Tried booking the heating replacement with them just before they opened, very responsive.
RR is booked in with Aylesbury for January. Not a great start, no one answers their emails. There's a gap in the market for a subscription model...
Porsche has just opened at High Wycombe which will be super convenient. Porsche Reading was not great but they have a new guy - Raj I think it is - who stayed late Friday night, post-closing, to ensure that I got the Taycan back for the weekend. It is this "above and beyond" that I value to...
I like the colour but I agree that stepping down in terms of performance is a no go. Wife really wanted it but given I drive "her car" 95% of the time, we went Gentian instead. The car wears these bright/alternative colours well.
I believe that a new Ferrari comes with 5 year warrantee and servicing - certainly one I looked at did. I think the days of reliability discussions are long gone.
Taycan Turbo - 20,000 miles and only issue (so far!) was a failure of the heating system. Hard to understand how all of these same cars can have such different software issues but I am no expert.
Also a 2022 Range Rover L460 PHEV and no issues so far, save for some general recalls. My only...
3 cents
1. Noise issue is a funny one for me. ICE "judge" EV for using "fake noise" from speakers inside/out of the car. As has been said, ICE does the same now, but also has exaggerated noise through increasingly complex exhaust pipes. The engine does not naturally make this noise, we put in...
For 30k you could buy a nice Caterham which you'd get more driving thrill from, even if "slower". Hard to justify 30k to shave a second off a 0-60. Gone are the selling for a premium days unfortunately.
Eco ++ and set it on the App to only take solar. It works so well on a sunny day- we've a 7KW set-up and will charge 100% on a summer's day even with house being run etc. The "free" driving (ignore the £10k set-up) is very satisfying.
For me the launch does not feel like the car accelerating, it feels like the road 30m ahead is being pulled towards the car. Love it, and the noise the stereo makes with launch control. ICE will always sound better and give more of an overall "buzz" but I do love the "see ya" feeling.
That would me most days coming the other way from Beaconsfield into central in a Gentian blue TT. If you flash, I will flash back ; )
Not one Taycan has flashed at me whereas previous DB11 there was SO MUCH love on the roads. Half the fun was other Aston drivers.
I love the clarity of tone Burmester gives even to podcasts etc. It's an expensive option for what it is but gives me the most pleasure out of all options.
