  1. Getting a Taycan after Tesla - Few questions

I use the storage area under the climate control screen for my phone which has worked very well for me. For nav I find the built in fine. It will pull POI's and traffic etc. from google and compared to my wifes tesla it is just as good (or bad depending on the day). There is surely a lot of...
  2. Big News! Electrify America is transitioning to Alpitronic HYC 400!

They are by far the most common charger in Denmark and also very common in Germany. Ionity have also started using them on new sites (along with their other models though). Very reliable in my experience.
  3. Taken the plunge

Congratulations, it's an awesome car! I can confirm with the headlamps, in cooler climates you will see this. I noticed it just yesterday when washing mine - It clears quickly.
  4. Drive Mode selector on the steering wheel

I didn't wan't the chrono so I don't have the selector in the steering wheel. I very rarely use other modes than normal so it is not essential for me. If I wan't to set the car in sport I hit the shortcut in the center console and use the suspension setting button on the instrument cluster to...
  5. Porsche Connect - Add on (Innodrive + Lane)

Yes the subscription is unfortunately gone :( I haven't heard of any success of getting it again so please share if you succeed.
  6. Retrofit of the J1II HV Battery into J1I vehicles

Well, fingers crossed that my original battery survives long enough to get the updated version. It makes sense that they do this. If the new battery is both lighter, more reliable and (maybe) more cost efficient and they fit perfectly, then why would they continue to produce the old version.
  7. Cayenne Vs Taycan

It's just very different cars. I also had a Cayenne E-Hybrid as a loaner. It feels like a boat compared to the Taycan. But I can imagine it being a very comfortable daily driver - I just prefer the sporty feel of the Taycan myself.
  8. Is anyone still having issues with the PCM randomly rebooting while driving (Mine's a '21)

I've never seen it while driving. Before the last PCM update it would refuse to boot from time to time. That has happened only once since the last update (one year ago). So it surely seems like yours is performing worse than it should.
  9. RWD, 4s, none? Help me decide, please!

I would vote for the RWD - I think it's more fun to drive and the range is (marginally) better. And since the ST does not exist in a "4" version you have to go for either the 4S or a CT. I really don't like the CT look so that was the deciding factor for me. If you are OK with that you can go...
  10. ACC and LCA worth the price?

Having had ACC in every car I've had the last 10 years I would never go without it. Keeping a safe distance to the car in front is just a nice thing to have. I commute in mine and it takes the stress out of dense traffic. ALK/Innodrive I've had (as FoD trial) but I was not impressed. It...
  11. Stick or Twist? Do I get a replacment Taycan or look elsewhere...

I understand your hesitation with that experience. I have a 2023 ST that I bought new - It's now done 54.000km and have only been in for service and the brake hose replacement. So they are not all spending most of the time in the workshop.
  12. Got an OTA update today!

Isn't this only for facelift models? As I have seen nothing either.
  13. Porsche Charging Service Plus

I still have the "original" one too and will be keeping that one as I solely use it for Ionity. But when it runs out I will consider the new charging service. Especially the lower AC charge price is great when on european roadtrips. Destination chargers are typically more annoying to activate...
  14. Norway is the world leader in the take up of electric cars, what can others learn?

Well that is not entirely true. There is no (or at least reduced) tax on electricity used for charging EV's in Denmark. I have charged at home for a year and I'm sub 1 dkk (14 US cent) pr kWh on average. The prices fluctuate a lot over the day but for the nights it's pretty low. We can even get...
  15. Difference in range between 2020-early2024 Taycan models

I know disconnected is not the actual term - It's just deenergizing the front motor and being smarter about when it does it. And there was a big fuss about how that increased the range by 50km (which it never did in practice as you also mention) I agree that the WLTP numbers are useless but...
  16. Difference in range between 2020-early2024 Taycan models

This. The change disconnects the front motor entirely on the AWD models when not needed which gave these cars more range. It was applied to all Taycans (assuming they have been serviced). That is why 2020 models sometimes are listed with the original range figure but after the update they are...
  17. How-to Recalibrate your SoH.

Sure, that is a completely different story :)
  18. Battery deterioration

I would not worry too much about the shown milage as long as you get a battery health check. Most likely it's just the weather/recent driving etc. that causes the low range estimation. Mine currently shows 182 miles at 80% with the bigger battery (And that is a RWD) where the battery is healthy...
  19. How-to Recalibrate your SoH.

In this case I guess the issue is more that people treat the procedure as a maintenance thing which it's not. It's intended to be used if you have doubts about the battery capacity and doing this will relearn the SoH as you also mention. There should be no reason to do this on a regular basis.
  20. How reliable (or unreliable) are these cars.... really ?!?

Mostly agree but around here quite a few people have decided to tow their summerhouses around (caravans...) and there hybrids seem to be the only viable option. I know a few that runs EV only day to day and then ICE when towing. Charging infrastructure is really good here but almost none of the...
