I'm within 1 month of 4 years since buying my Taycan 4s. Love the car and plan to keep it so I'm checking out pricing for Extended Warranty from Porsche.
I think I've found all the relevant posts in this Forum, but most of them discuss pricing from 2023 or 2024. The most recent is from...
Being part of this forum continues to give me pleasure (even when every thread seems to eventually end up discussing depreciation 😀 )
As 2024 closes, I still love driving my 2021 4s, and appreciate all the knowledge each of you contributed this past year. Best wishes to all of you for a new...
Yesterday I charged my car to 85% but the My Porsche app shows only 77%. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in, but that hasn’t fixed anything.
Do any of you have any suggestions?
Very interesting new technology tested at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Of course we’re not getting this new tech any time soon, but great to see innovation in charging.
According to this article, 8 new CarPlay apps are coming in 2024, but might be specific to 2024 model cars, including --
Auto Settings: This app will let you manage paired iPhones and adjust vehicle settings.
Car Camera: This app will display the vehicle's rear-view camera feed.
Charge: For...
I pick up my granddaughter in my Taycan every week and take her to Starbucks to study math and then to a choir lesson. The drive segments are not very long, maybe 5 to 10 minutes max.
During those times though my granddaughter complains of motion sickness. She sits in the backseat because of...
Not a Porsche, but an interesting concept for what the future might look like for RVs. Whether you like it or hate it, I think the move to electrification will bring many new concepts for transportation and lodging.
I thought some of you would find this IEEE Spectrum article interesting. It sounds like a lot of development is still needed, and God knows there would be a big infrastructure requirement, but it sure feels smarter and better in the long run than the Porsche e-Fuels...
I'm using Apple Maps via wireless CarPlay to handle routing for EV charging. Generally it works well, but once in a while I get a warning that the SOC in Apple Maps may no longer match the true SOC in the Taycan.
In the past I've corrected this by deleting the Taycan from Apple Maps on your...
My wife's Lexus RX Hybrid is coming off warranty and we're in the market for a new vehicle for her. We love to hike in the Cascades where HVDC charging infrastructure is either weak or non-existent (even for a Tesla). I have also been waiting to hear from Porsche that they will move to NACS...
https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2022-rivian-r1t-yearlong-review-update-10-running-out-of-battery/
Although the EV in questions is a Rivian R1T, the story of the interplay between the 12V battery and the vehicle state, coupled with the failure of the CCS locking mechanism was interesting...
Notified today that a new OTA update is coming. Not sure what is in it, so if anyone can provide a link to that information please do so.
This notice applies to your vehicle: xxxxxxxxxxxxx5047
Porsche has developed FREE Over-The-Air (“OTA”) software updates...
So after over a year of discussion about the failures of the PMCC, one fact has always troubled me - @daveo4EV's problem with charging non-Taycan vehicles at home (for the latest post on this see here).
Request #1 -- So I'd like to conduct a poll that asks anyone and everyone who has ever tried...
<UPDATE - After reading the comments to my original post, I dug into the source of the images and found information from a DOE website that can be found at this post below. It appears that data comes from the Department of Energy, and the percentages shown are for a Combined Drive Cycle which...
My PWCC just updated to version 6120 today.
Has anybody else seen this and does anyone know what the update provides besides “stability, bug fixes, etc.”?
Also, is there any place on the Porsche website where are you can find information about these sorts of releases? I’ve looked, but can’t...
I don't think much about what Toyota is doing in the EV space given how late they are to the party. At the same time this article got my attention and made me think that Porsche might also explore this area.

There is also a...
Came across this article in Car and Driver about the possible look of the 2025 718 EV (starting price $78k).
I like the look of the car and the way they seem to marry the Taycan and 718 in a 2 door Coupe and Convertible. Not a lot of news in the article - does anyone have info on the battery...
