  1. Storage questions: charging cable in trunk or frunk? Bag options for frunk?

Everyone will have different experiences but I can say that in our tesla we've used the charging cable exactly once in 18 months of ownership. Our home L2 charger and destination chargers all have cables. The only time we've used the provided cable was when I happened to park in front of a...
  2. Aftermarket wheels for Taycan

I hope this thread continues to grow with options people are finding. I didn't like any of the factory options so I just went with the default and will use them as my winter wheels picking up something for summers with better tires. I'm not worried about range but if my experience holds true...
  3. Radar/Laser Detectors - Hardwired

That's what I'm seeing from comments in forums as well as the manual. But you don't have to get the thermal glass - If I recall, when I built my Taycan that was an option.
  4. Radar/Laser Detectors - Hardwired

I will be but am going to wait a bit. Given this is a first gen car I'm going to be a little more patient and wait till later this year or next spring before I take her apart and wire in the radar and laser system. Not to mention, it's weird not having any type of 'engine compartment' to work...
  5. Radar / Laser Detectors with Sound Thermally Insulated Glass

Thank you, @ron_b for starting this thread. About to pickup my Turbo with insulated glass. I’ve gone ahead and ordered a Radenso Pro-M for now as my other car has a fully integrated/built-in setup and I’ll be flying blind with the Taycan till I can get it scheduled for install. Radenso is...
  6. Taycan vs 911 (Which to buy)

I hear ya! I have a highly customized (aka loud) e60 M5 which has a high revving v10 putting out close to 600hp. On track days it sounds the best of the crowd racing which is often loaded with Italian imports. That being said, my Taycan hits the dealer today and it's going to be a huge shift...
  7. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

I'm honestly not sure who is managing logistics now. If it's still PWL, they aren't updating anything public that I found. I can say that the last Emden ship that left this month really hit the gas crossing the pond. It only spent about 12 hours in Davisville and a little more in Jacksonville...
  8. Former Model S P90DL owner comparing it to my new Taycan 4S

That's always the situation with cars. I put 40k in performance upgrades into an M5 that already stickered close to 120k. A highschool kid with a used 335 he got for 15k could put another 5 into it and double my horsepower. There is always a less expensive option to get performance. But we...
  9. Former Model S P90DL owner comparing it to my new Taycan 4S

Thank you for the review! My wife has a model X and the poor buying experience and quality issues we’ve had with it turned me off of electric. On a whim I stopped into the dealer and checked out a Turbo S and he said “if you have time, take it for a spin.” I ordered a Turbo two days later...
  10. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

I just got a course update anticipating Jacksonville on the 22nd. That thing isn't spending much time at Davisville if that's right.
  11. Road & Track review. Talk about living under a rock for the last 6 months - why don't some journalists do their homework?

I’ll echo the sentiments of several others who posted here. It’s frustrating that we routinely see comparisons between Tesla and Porsche just b/c they are both EV. Why don’t we compare Suburu and Porsche ICE’s? I mean they’re both small, light, fast, ICE’s.... right? /s. I get that there...
  12. Dash cams

I'm going to be in the same boat. I run laser jammers and integrated radar on my current daily and am really worried about moving to the Taycan without anything. My other system has paid for itself. The someone's comment about being afraid to have it installed, here's an install of a system...
  13. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

In looking at their site they look to be a shipping company like PWL. They don't have any routes on their tracking page though that originate in Emden. So my guess is this won't actually query manifests that have our cars on it.
  14. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

A lot of Taycan's on that boat. Dare say we're going to see the electric grid on the east coast dim just a bit a day or two after she pulls into port.
  15. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

yeah I noticed that as well. What I'm not sure of though is how frequently they update that since I've never paid attention before. Or maybe they're using someone else now? So many questions but of course if the Goodwood makes it across the line it's moot till the next order.
  16. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

It doesn't show any results for my VIN which is also in transit.
  17. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

It wouldn't surprise me if it takes some time to get paperwork done and the tugs to come over and help shepherd those big guys out of the dock area.
  18. Official: Porsche stops production due to coronavirus

I just looked too and see Goodwood docked late on the 5th. That means it's had a few days there so maybe she's loaded up. I was told it's heading to East coast drops first (Davis & Jacksonville) then to the gulf. This is a pretty cool article and it's recent if you're curious. Says VW has...
  19. Taycan Production Resumes May 4 at Zuffenhausen

This is an important thing that's easy to forget. It's not in their best interest to drag this out. That's a significant amount of capital tied up that doesn't get paid for till delivery. I have no doubt they'll move as fast as they can. I just wish they'd be more forthcoming with details...
  20. Taycan Production Resumes May 4 at Zuffenhausen

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your question. I thought you asked what steps are between 270 and 300. From the screenshots I've seen there isn't any interim step. My guess though is there is a backlog of cars and they anticipate yours is going to sit there at the factory for a few weeks before...
