...for it will be used to install it on the Taycan
Today I had to drop off the car at Porsche for a whistling noise that showed up post heater recall and I asked the SA if they would install the connector for me to the powered mirror and he said yes. I may do that, with my luck I will fumble...
I just had my heater replaced by a recall and now I hear the whistle sound and I know I’m not crazy because it wasn’t there before. I’m going to check the air filter first.
...- i'm about 9 months ahead of you (welsh in england though), bought a 4S last august, terrible OPC customer service, but apart from a failing heater ("they all do that sir...") its wonderful.
Sold my Golf R, and my boxster 986s to turn electric for the first time, hadn't even driven a taycan...
...by the owner, either due it the car refusing to start/drive (e.g. Taycan red electrical error) or being unsafe to drive (e.g. dead cabin heater), or stuck in service bay (whether being repaired, recalled, waiting for parts, whatever).
Not perfect, I agree, but I think it would be a good...
...very robust for years after that. None of the Model S left us unable to drive, Taycan has already left me stranded (red electrical error, dead heater, dead OBC unable to charge AC or DC) and I've only had it for 3 years. Model S'es had rattles since day one, Taycan developed them after 10...
...The Taycant cooling fans were dead at 60k. Same location in front wheel well. Utter drek from Porsche. Zero build quality points.
Same heater failure as Model S. Draw.
OBC and DCDC converter on Taycant both failed and replaced.
The 18kW 3 phase charger on my 8yo Model S still functions...
The first time, they were replacing the heater and had the front end of the car off. the second time, was for new suspension. The warranty ran out a couple of months ago as I am planning on selling the car!
...100km to another fast charger…everything was fine, I came home well 🤷♂️
Since I had appointment, i went to the store, and they replaced heater (3rd or 4th time), but it was not enough. Some additional sensor needs to be changed (to do that, battery has to be dismounted), but they didn’t...
...crown for amount of time per year spent in service).
Not always true. While there are much fewer eTron GT-s than Taycans, when things like heater failures happen when the weather gets cold, Porsche gets priority on parts, so I've heard of Audi eTron GT owners complaining about the long wait...
...did not experience issues. I have a car similar to yours (assuming 23 Taycan Turbo from your user profile), and unfortunately have experienced heater failure, OBC failure, and recently the red electrical failure - all the classics. My Taycan has barely 20K miles on it. The electrical error...
...as I’m buying out the lease and perhaps extending the CPO for an additional 2 years (making it 4 years of original warranty + 4 years of CPO) and was told the passenger side heater needed to be replaced through a recall as well. Will take a couple of days to get it, should be fine by eow.
This is the sad report but rooted in reality with well known issues related to the Heater and Battery cells and if you do not have a responsive service center then you are out of luck. Your particular situation sounds like a no way out unless you can find another service center to take care of...
...spiritedly on public roads (my Taycan has has never been tracked to date).
Between all the recalls, failed OBC, electrical error, failed heater, my Taycan is spending a month a year in service. All 4 Model S I owned got some TLC from service in the first 0-4 months of their life, after that...
...do the service?
Is the entire warranty voided or just any damage caused by the lack of service?
If it’s that latter, that’s no different than the US.
I would have a hard time thinking they’d deny a warranty claim that’s unrelated. Like denying a heater claim for not flushing your brake fluid.
Advise them of the problem with your village and take them the car now. They might fix it sooner if it is sitting there. I was away for 2 weeks soon after my first heater packed up and just left it with them. They sorted it while I was away
Battery sensor not a part of the Battery warranty? It would have been on my Mach E.
Once again in my last car warranty, the 8 year HVB warranty was much more clear:
“
(2) The high voltage battery and eDrive systems of your vehicle are covered by the Electric Vehicle Component coverage for...
You are probably right on heater, while OBC was not on recall.
Also that battery sensor was not on recall, and it requires lots of labour to replaceit.
