UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

Build was supposed to be finished 3/12/21 but has now jumped back 2 weeks. No explanation for why. Oh well, won’t be here for Christmas then

    Charging at UK Dealers

I can’t see why they charge a time cost as well as a kWh cost. It does seem a bit excessive. Useful to know it’s there if needed, but best avoided if there are other options I think

    Battery learning

You might find the overall journey time to be shorter if you drive a bit slower as you could then avoid having a charging stop

UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

Spoke to SE today. They have just had a Taycan arrive that completed build 8 days ago. And another a few days ago similar. So it might come soon… or not. Fingers crossed.

Full documentary video Taycan development and production

Nice video. 700,000,000 Euros to build the production plant. Is that in addition to the alleged 1 Billion Euros to develop the Taycan? Or part of the 1 billion?

I am underwhelmed by my Taycan Pen

Same here. I have a black one from my Macan. Turned up in the post a few weeks after the car.

UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

How long does it take after production finishes for the car to arrive at the dealer? Specifically mine is supposed to complete on Friday (3rd Dec) - will I get it before Christmas?

    UK insurer recommendation please

Ouch! I am with NFU (Macan) and asked about the Taycan when it comes. Had to go off to the underwriter who insist on a tracker. Admiral ar a similar price with no tracker or £70 cheaper with a tracker. Since the tracker costs £269/yr I will be going with Admiral and no tracker. might also be...

That doesn’t sound good at all. And as you say, not the time of year to be driving round without a heater

    Cables

Someone recommended this to me https://evwired.com/product/porsche-taycan-ev-charging-cable/ I think you need one that claims to do 3 phase or it will only do up to 7.4kW This site also had some useful info...

    Service Issues

I see you are in Gloucestershire - so presumably Tewkesbury? I have to say that sounds unlike them as I have found them very helpful in the past, so maybe somewhere else? As above, if you call Porsche assist they will tow it to the dealer and sort you a courtesy car. It will then be a priority...

i need to activate sport chrono

I think the retrofit option was actually cheaper because the clock was not included. Only a button and changing the software

    Electrical failure warning

20 minutes could be a real pain, depending where you are trying to go. Does this sort of thing happen very often? Mine is just being built at the moment, but I can think of situations where 20 minutes could be a real problem. Part of my reason for having a decent car is that I expect it to go...

UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

Looking at that, I won't be getting it until January. Completion date to dealership entry is 1 month and mine doesn't complete until 3rd Dec. So my dealer is probably being a bit optimistic suggesting that I will get if before Christmas. Oh well.

UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

Interesting what we get told. I haven't been given a build date, but told build will start shortly and complete by 3/12. Here's hoping. So if I can't get it before Christmas and get offered it between Christmas and New Year, should I wait until January so that it is a 2022 car? Or does that not...

    Indoor car cover

I read you should only put the cover on if the car is clean with no dirt or anything because movement of the cover can then scratch the car. Seems a bit pointless to me if the car is inside anyway.

UK: When did you order and when did (or will) your car arrive?

I wonder if there is something a bit dodgy going on here with some dealers... I ordered mid July and was told delivery end Nov/early Dec. Current estimate is production finish by 3rd Dec, delivery before Christmas. So it has slipped 2-3 weeks, which is nothing really, especially compared to what...

Car size for city streets and country lanes

The difference is that a chelsea tractor can easily drive over things like kerbs. A Taycan can’t

Car size for city streets and country lanes

It is almost as wide as a RR sport. This gives a useful comparison https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/compare/porsche-taycan-2019-sedan-vs-land-rover-range-rover-sport-2018-suv/front/
