  1. User manual for Taycan

Indeed, I can verify it's available now.
  2. Taycan fire in Florida garage

It is concerning. The amount of damage to the car from my amateur point of view looks like it may have originated from the car itself rather than the charger/wiring/breaker box. But I hope not. EV's exploding by themselves without serious crash damage is almost unheard of and there are only a...
  3. Taycan fire in Florida garage

Clearly some car went up in flames. But is it a Taycan? And if it was, was it the car that caught fire or the garage? And if it was the car, why? At this point there is no confirmation it was a Taycan in the first place let alone any information on the reason of the fire. But, certainly...
  4. I ask and answer: Why won't my Taycan Charge as fast as I want it to?

Important to take into account the speed. Here in Finland most roads have different speed limits during the winter, as in many 120km/h roads are 100km/h instead and many 100km/h roads are 80km/h instead. With this difference in mind I have seen some Audi E-tron owners report similar or...
  5. User manual for Taycan

Rather interesting that there have clearly been some EU deliveries already but the app still isn't updated to show Taycan stuff. At least here in Finland. I'm eager to go through it all before I get my car :)
  6. Amperage usage control

Interesting thread. Is there regional differences in how breakers/fuses are rated? In Finland they are rated for continuous load. So for example I have in my garage a 11kw charging station installed already for the Taycan which is tapped into 3 x 16A and that is protected by 3x 16A fuses. Based...
  7. Turbo S vs Turbo - 80-120kph times

I think this is the likely truth. Shouldn't be any difference going from steady 80kph to full throttle. But if you calculate 80-120 time from a launch control start then this is what you get. If it isn't, well then a lot of sources have been talking bullshit.
  8. Jay Leno's Garage features the Taycan Turbo S

I enjoyed this one. Perhaps it's because I'm Finnish, but I wasn't bothered by Jay's energy levels. It was an interesting talk even though I knew about pretty much everything already :) It bothers me more to see someone being overenthusiastic about the car and the video being pretty much the...
  9. Has everyone that bought a 4S had the battery+ upgrade?

Sure did. For three reasons in this order: range, resell value, power. Due to the higher weight the power only really helps at high speeds but the first two reasons are enough.
  10. Impact of Taycan on equilibrium-is it just us?

Interesting thread. I have not driven the car yet but I would assume it can be driven very smoothly, just need to be lighter on the accelerator. The instant torque is violent and it will be felt in the body even without launch control if you're making strong inputs constantly. The car has the...
  11. Ground clearance on Taycan 4S?

I'm also a bit worried about the ground clearance generally. Not really that it won't be enough when in raised mode, but what if I drive into something steep with the wrong driving mode? In Range & Sport Plus modes the car is always at its lowest setting. With Normal & Sport it depends on...
  12. Taycan Waiting Room: Who has ordered and a delivery date?

Talked to my dealer to see what's up and now the expected date for when the car is finished is late February / early March. Expected delivery here in Finland is late March / early April. So there has clearly been some delay, don't know why. I hope these dates stick! The timing is kind of perfect...
  13. Taking One Lap of the Country in my Taycan Turbo - 10k miles in 6 weeks Cross-Country Journal

Just a note that from what I've seen from the discussions in Finland these CCS handshake issues are fairly common. Some cars have a lot of issues with certain charging stations until they "update" the charger somehow. I don't know in more technical detail what is going on with this but I see it...
  14. Taycan Turbo gets 20% better than official EPA mileage on 436 mile road trip

Zero concern. Charging will only start when the cable is securely in place. And the level of water resistance electric cars have is very high. There can't be even the slightest chance of danger in any normal weather conditions, so you can charge in a monsoon and drive in a flood if necessary...
  15. Panoramic fixed glass roof v Aluminium roof

What? Does not match my experience at all. I spent a long time sitting in Taycan's with both roof types at Frankfurt and the car with the glass roof has approximately 2-3cm more headspace than the metal roof (in the area which the glass covers, and it covers a lot).
  16. Taking One Lap of the Country in my Taycan Turbo - 10k miles in 6 weeks Cross-Country Journal

Long distance EV driving, at this day and age, will require having time, patience and a pioneer spirit. But I kind of look forward to that. People are simply too BUSY these days, perhaps an EV can help relax a bit as you have to adopt that mindset :)
  17. Owner Discusses Taycan Range, Battery Longevity, Charging and Related Concerns

Interesting test but unfortunately Taycan is not part of that test...
  18. Panoramic fixed glass roof v Aluminium roof

Which is approximately 1 % of the weight of the car. Whatever the driver/passengers weigh and possible other cargo makes for an expected larger variance in total weight than the weight of the glass roof. I don't imagine this being a concern to almost anyone. If you're tracking with it all the...
  19. Performance Options on 4S? PDCC, RWS, PTV Plus

From where did you get the 18.2 ft figure? That is either erroneus or a different way of measuring it. I have an older A7 model, and based on what I could find, the turning circle is 11.9 metres which is 39 ft. For the 2020 model you mentioned the figure I found is 36.4 ft. Or is the "turning...
  20. Performance Options on 4S? PDCC, RWS, PTV Plus

Didn't choose any of these. Mainly because my experience with this level of cars is highly limited and I'm sure that I will be impressed with it regardless of these features. I rather spent on other type of options. The only one I've later wondered about is the RWS which many here seem to like...
