I had it done as the dedicated recall about a month ago, then flipped my home charge back to 32A. Iāve since had the uPdate done (which from what Iāve heard on this forum, does roll that update up into it) whilst they were fitting my patented self cracking roof #2 just before I head to the...
I had my OPC tracking this since last November (I still ordered it and had my home unit set to 24A). I pushed hard on the harmonic update and has it confirmed back on email that it resolved the issue (Though I see @MrB has had a failure sinceā¦). Iām back at 32A single phase at home so , given...
Funnily enough, none of my charges were 22kW ..until I got a car with a 22kW charger. It does of course depend on both your journey profile and your plans to travel. Ireland, good contingency in many parts of the highlands and certainly a ton of locations in Europe. I do, or plan to, visit...
Thatās (was) a separate update from the uPadate, but if you havenāt had it done yet hopefully the update rolls it into one package or they do it at the same time. Did you never get the official notification for the campaign?
@Larkey just to add that its clear the new crack goes all the way through š¢š¤¬, unlike the first two cracks so Iām actually in a worse position than before the roof was replaced. For now it remains watertight but its a worry on that count too.
Agreed, though Iād shared this thread with the techs and theyād had a good look. Definitely unrelated to the roof bars (my early theory) but no sign of the possible welding issues also mentioned in this thread. Guess will take some of the cars going into Porsche directly to get some laser...
Sure, theyāve been great so no issue naming, its Hatfield. Definitely think a concerted dealer and customer pressure on Porsche is needed.
Iād still say my Taycan interior is way nicer than any Tesla school canteen though (they should copy your cracked roof to give their interior some...
I think I beat you... just picked mine up. Small crack had appeared between the service tech (who has been fantastic, no issue on the dealer side at all) moving the car to the forecourt and me picking up. Plus side is we both saw it and he was straight off to call corporate (never seen anyone...
For sure, Iām reading your reply as effectively being in agreement with my commentary. Old world or new, all we can do is make sure our vehicles arenāt the lowest hanging fruit.
iPace was improved with UWB in the fob which I think has moved to the newer RR's I believe. That being said I know of ones that have been stolen but don't know if that was down to physical break in and ODB port shenanigans, physical key theft or some way around UWB comms (we all know that if...
I think the comment about owners not having comfort access still being at risk is technically correct but I'm with your sentiment. Anything can be hacked or stolen, security is about making the effort to do so not worth bothering with. Whilst I haven't seen any studies on the Taycan...
The fact Porsche explicitly cover their arses in the configurator
āNote: Comfort Access uses state-of-the-art technology. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the keyās wireless encryption code is intercepted and used to open or steal the vehicleā
Was enough to confirm my decision...
My car is currently having a can opener to the original pano roof for a replacement one that by all accounts may just crack again.
On the plus side did check with dealer this morning if the new PCM was downloadable, said it was and will do it this week whilst completing the roof replacement.
Yep, though supposedly its been fixed with it now ok to use 32A single phase AC with the 22kW option. My car is updated and, liking to live dangerously, Iāve returned my home single phase to 32A from 24A.
Oh no, thats the first Iāve heard of the exterior being affected! Mine is still with the dealer as were having trouble getting the roof off. Said no problem as rather not rush it (theyāve been good tbh, they just need more info from Porsche who seem to be playing it very close to their chest on...
That, is both shite and worrying.......
Mine never got any worse , well apart from the Cayenne Tank courtesy car till my (first š¬) replacement roof is done. Sure its all very good if you are into that kind of bus height ride but definitely canāt wait for Friday to get the CT back. If it cracks...
Great insight thanks. Just dropping mine off right now (finally, will almost miss the crack as its nearly all Iāve known in my 3 months ownership š). Will ask the same of mine too and hopefully if they know it will match.
Well, still away on business but had a message saying that mine hasnāt been done as the bodyshop didnāt have the right specialist tools yet and there arenāt any at any UK sitesā¦.
At least the 22kW and instrument cluster campaigns have been done whilst away.
