  1. Forum members from 2020, 2021, 20222: do you still have Taycan?

Still own my 2020 Turbo and still love the car, in spite of recalls and glitchy PCM. 53,000 miles. I plan to keep it until the 8-year battery warranty expires.
  2. Recall: High-Voltage Batteries May Short Circuit - ARB6 & ARB7 - Diagnostic Software - October 1, 2024

My 2020 Turbo has been at the dealer since Dec. 4 for the ARB7 recall. Two modules had to be replaced and there is a parts shortage (according to the dealer, and I have no reason to doubt). The work is supposed to be completed in the next few days. By then I will have been without the car for...
  3. BAY AREA owners: Where do you mount your Fastrak Flex transponder?

I have exact same setup as ThinkMac — thermal insulated glass, transponder in holder attached with suction cups half in dotted area next to rearview mirror — and it works fine on all Bay Area bridges.
  4. San Francisco to Palm Desert rt: charging recommendation?

I second the Harris Ranch recommendation. I've stopped there four times on trips between the Bay Area and L.A. or Palm Desert. I've never had to wait and the food is better than most other options along I5. I've also used the EA location at the Santa Clarita Walmart with success and from...
  5. Experience with Bay Area Porsche Dealers

I too got my Taycan from Porsche Walnut Creek and had it serviced there. My experience has been good.
  6. TeslaTap Mini 60 Amp GROUP BUY

Interested in 60A. Thanks for organizing.
  7. Are my reliability worries misplaced?

After 14 months and 12,000 miles I still love my 2020 Turbo. I've had no serious problems while driving. Like others, I've experienced some occasional software glitches and it took two weeks and a new PCM to get the WMA5 update installed, but the car has been nothing but a pleasure to drive.
  8. [POLL] - [3rd Norcal Taycan social] - June 26th, 2021 - A pleasant summer drive

I initially responded as a "maybe." I regret I will not be able to join you. Dave, kudos to you for organizing this event. I look forward to seeing the photos.
  9. 2021 April Software update results - 2020 Taycan Turbo

Glad it worked. That box was suddenly checked on mine too. No idea how it happened. A software mystery.
  10. 2021 April Software update results - 2020 Taycan Turbo

I had the same problem and eventually discovered the relevant menu option. If you've not already done this, try: (1) using the button on the right side of the steering wheel, select the center tube; (2) using the rotary knob, select Map; (3) depress the rotary knob a second time and you should...
  11. Taycan software update - reported problems post update

Agreed. Although I am currently frustrated, I do not regret buying the car and have no intention of getting rid of it. Notwithstanding the software issues, it is a terrific vehicle.
  12. Taycan software update - reported problems post update

My 2020 Turbo had been trouble free since I got it a year (10,000+ miles) ago. I took it to Walnut Creek (California) Porsche for the WMA5 update nine days ago. For the past week the technician has been unable to complete the final update sequence. He reports repeated "freezing" before the...
  13. What’s your Taycan efficiency?

2020 Turbo with 20" summer tires, driven mostly in normal mode, in the S.F. Bay Area (temps usually 50-75 F).
  14. California Carpool stickers

The stickers are definitely ugly. I seriously considered not putting them on the car but sometimes those carpool lanes are very useful. I got mine last summer. I think it took about a month from application.
  15. NEMA 14-50 position in garage for PMCC

I too had a problem with an outlet that was mounted too low. I discovered I could just turn the PMCC upside down in the mount. As someone else mentioned, you rarely need to be able to read the text on the PMCC screen.
