Gotcha. That drive is not as easy at it looks. I would recommend to charging to near 100% at the EA location in Forsyth, GA and if you keep the speeds under control you should be able to make the 190 miles to the EA station in Savannah.
Key is to keep the speed well under control.
Not sure why the soon to be CEO of Electrify America is going to "detail many unacceptable charging experiences that many have detailed?" He was documenting his experience on using the charging network he will soon be managing. Why is he going to reference someone who has a charging issue...
I watched the video earlier today after it popped up in my Youtube feed. Honestly, you have to give the guy credit that he was honest when he ran into sites that had non-functioning chargers - like the one in Cedar City, UT. Which happens to be tied with Grand Junction, CO as my least...
This is interesting.
When I went out to Vegas last week from Denver I used these EA Signet units in Salina, UT and did not have any issues on the way out or the way back. I had initially charging speeds in excess of 250kW both times, and both of my charging sessions were less than 20 minutes...
Just got back from a week long mountain biking trip on the trails west of Las Vegas. The weather was great and my Willy bars worked great, as usual.
I can usually bust out a Denver to Vegas in 12 hours or so, but it takes a little longer since the bike on the back messes with aerodynamics and...
Speed and weather conditions have a huge impact on range. You could start a drive at 100% battery level and the PCM will show 240 miles worth of range, but if you drive 100mph the entire time you will be lucky to get 120 miles of range. If the weather is cold the impact will be even worse...
Is this your first electric car?
If so, I would recommend spending a few hours on Youtube watching videos on how electric cars operate and the impact of various operating and environmental conditions on battery life. Also, I would Google "electric vehicle guess-o-meter."
I think this will...
Intersting idea, but no way Porsche can stuff a 140kWh battery into a Macan with the current technology available today. Hell, my F-150 Lightning has a 131kWh better and the truck is twice as big as a Macan.
If Porsche can figure out how to put a 120kWh battery in the future Cayenne EV, then...
Gregg Abbott - the proverbial turd in the punchbowl.
Making progress in Texas with a state sponsored charging network even with federal funds footing the bill with that guy in office will be a challenge.
I can't wait for a CCS charger to be installed in the northwest part of the panhandle...
I had so much fun reading the recent Youtube Kyle thread that I thought I would throw more wood on the proverbial fire of a sensitive subject on this board - that is Electrify America. Plus, we have not had a good charging network conversation/arguement/screaming matching in like a month, so I...
I am going to take the flip side of that coin.
I am not sure Porsche gives a crap about Kyle Connor. Porsche is not Rivian. They are not accelerating his "order" to get a vehicle into his hands. Also, do we know for sure he has an "order" for a GTS in? Does not seem like he even has an...
it is not so much that I have issues with Tesla drivers, I just see the occasionally chaos that might occur when you try to have two very different types of car charging set ups attempt to leverage a single type of charging infrastructure meant for a particular spot on a vehicle. I am not sure...
Good point on there possibly being language deep within some footnote on page 694 of some government document we will never see requiring Tesla stalls to support CCS as opposed to just providing a converter.
I guess we will wait and see what the Tesla charging ecosystem looks like in two...
Not to be a jerk, but I have Electrify America sample size back to 2019. 5 different CCS cars. 16 different western and midwestern states, roughly 60k to 70k of road tripping miles. Over 75 different EA sites. Hell, I drove across Utah in an Audi e-Tron before the Green River charger was...
I echo this sentiment. I was one of the few I knew with both a Model X and a Model S in 2017.
Once the Model 3 was launched that world ceased to exist. That and Elon Musk going way off the deep end once COVID started.
My man, I hope you get your wish and get more Tesla supercharging options opened up around you. If they don't I am not sure Tesla is prepared for the internet fury that @daveo4EV can unleash!
And that, kids, is the definition of karma. Say bad things about Electrify America on the internet, then all that happens. Maybe Electrify America is as sensitive as Elon Musk and is purposely retaliating against you for saying mean things about them on the internet.
I am kidding. Jokes...
