Yes. Porsche Customer Services were involved and they covered the full cost of both fans, including labour under Goodwill . I spoke with the service advisor yesterday and they confirmed the new part is modified and basically we should not expect this to happen again.
That’s a bargain, the lowest quote I had a couple of months ago was for about £1700; ended up with Porsche Insurance for a little more (just over £2000 but for a better coverage). Clean license, 14 years NCD, very safe neighbourhood!
I just had the same issue with my car (my car is with OPC now), both cooling fans ceased, and Porsche centre say it’s not covered by warranty but they have asked Porsche GB for goodwill contribution.
To me it’s a design flaw, placing the fans exposed to all the road grime is not very smart...
If you start at a very low SOC you will probably going to see the orange turtle on your dash ( due to overheating). A trick I learned recently is to put your car on Sports Plus, it brings the fan on earlier.
If you register to Porsche Charging service (via My Porsche App) and use the Porsche Charging Card which will be sent to you in post, it’s not too bad. Yes you will have to pay per minute as as well as per KW, but the overall cost is less than half of what you would pay at bp Pulse or Shell...
I’m sorry I shouldn’t have specifically mentioned 3D; what I meant was the surround view in general. I don’t have it on my car and this is the only disappointing point with my car.
There are some useful information on another thread (the one I started with the hope of finding a solution to...
I have an Ice Grey 4S and I love the colour. It’s white, Silver and Grey in different lighting!
you have it pretty much spot on; I would definitely recommend adding the 3D surround view, Taycan is a long car and the view out of rear is bit restricted. I’m missing it on my car and have been...
I drove from Wales to Scotland a few weeks ago. If you changed to the range mode using PCM or the mode switch, full range mode kicks in with speed restricted to whatever you had set it to (mine is set at 70 mph), if you chose a destination from satnav, you will get a few options and you chose...
Thanks Steve. Good point, I have not seen it on a Taycan but I have spec’ed it on our X3 and use it pretty much all the time.
I spoke with a company in Blackburn and they are checking my VIN to see if they can do this retrofit before they can quote...
My Taycan 4S (MY21) is missing a key option: “Park Assist including Surround View”.
First owner ordered the car with £30K+ of options but unfortunately didn’t tick the Surround View (and Head up display).
It has the basic reversing camera but the image quality (resolution and coverage) is not...
