My Porsche App latest update said to include integration of PMCC…

I quote from IOS app update description to version 6.2.0: This release contains minor fixes, improvements and new features: Integration of your charging equipment (Mobile Charger Connect) I have seen a new charging icon at the bottom of the vehicle tab, yet the options that appear in mine just...

Good news first: PCM and seat-loom campaigns successful ! Bad news: leaking rear shock absorber … must change pair !!!

I am quite happy with the new PCM. Seems zippier, liked to be able to change 5 icons for the ones I use the most. Anybody else notice they changed the turn signal sound, or am I going crazy ? It sounds to me like my father’s multiple Peugeot 404’s and 504’s from the 60’s and 70’s.:surprised...

Plug and Charge - how does it work if you have several networks you signed up for, and the charger has agreements for several. Any suggestions ?

In Europe at least the Porsche Charging Service works with several networks and if I had Plug and Charge (2020 Turbo S), there are several stations where 2-4 networks where I have signed up have Plug and Charge capabilities. Now, I just pick the card or app where the price is lowest. I was...

Anyone else getting a distorted view from rear window ? Mine has major distortion in the center top just below the third brake light !

I have been meaning to ask this for over two years now and always forget. It is like cars seen on inside rear-view mirror appear like hearse conversions because the upper fourth appears stretched vertically. I presume the complex curvature at that point may be the reason… Mine is a sedan.

Regen braking when using brake pedal shows rear motor doing almost all the work !

While I was driving the last legs solo, I was looking for things to do and decided to see what the traction display on the left tube showed me while driving on the highway at high speeds through Germany. While you maintain your speed, most of the traction is from the rear, when accelerating...

Madrid to Tarifa to Nordkapp to Madrid road trip: Spreadsheet with data

Sorry about the primitive spreadsheet. I have included as much data as I could gather. Missing data at some points, as I failed to remember to take photos of dash or tube 3 was not set to info…:headbang: Just as I estimated total cost of charging was just over 1000€, not bad for almost...

    Public charger (EVSE) improvement suggestions.

One annoying criticism I would like to make, is that most chargers are not marked clearly with their maximum output. This would benefit everyone and would be a matter of placing decals to identify them easily. On most of my road trip this was an issue. Until you looked at the specs of the...

Tire wear during Madrid to Tarifa to Nordkapp to Madrid road trip, 12,000 kms. Less than expected…

I had assumed I would be back with front tires ready for change because I had changed the previous ones with 17k kms. However after 17k kms with these there must be enough tread for 4-5k kms left on them. The rears I changed before departure, have about over half the tread left, so also better...

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 14 Cognac to Madrid Total distance road trip 12,210 kms

Tarifa to Nordkapp distance 5,989 kms in six days. Nice to be home again. Definitely, it is plausible to travel through Europe with planning and preparation. Not as straight-forward as an ICE, and more stops required. However it has been highly rewarding to make my dream become a reality. I...

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 13 Wiesbaden to Cognac Unsurprisingly my range at 100% has dropped to 265 km. !

After driving thru Germany at speed, the extrapolated result is a jaw-dropping 265 km. range in normal mode with ac in eco mode. Hopefully after a return to “normal” speeds, the range will start climbing to the usual 380km. In the summer. No crucial charging issues at all during the trip. A...

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 12 Malmö to Wiesbaden After a 2 day rest, I retook my voyage home. Solo now.

After resting at my daughter’s house for a couple of days, I resumed my trip At 09:00 this morning. I just barely had time to initiate charging, go to the john, buy some water or water and food, check my itinerary, stop charging and get back on the road. All Ionity stops today. Range mode...

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 9 Umeå to Malmö. Pretty unremarkable…

Most of the route was exactly the same as on the way up North. Fortunately, the road closed detour we had encountered, was reopened, albeit, with many roadworks and a short unsurfaced section. We have been using the car as a giant flyswatter !

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 8 Alta to Umeå. Speed limits these low will drive you crazy !

I am glad I did not take the advice to drive down the coast of Norway, as I would have needed therapy, because driving so slow on roads where one can clearly drive a lot faster is unnerving to me. I know the scenery must be beatiful and all, but this is a road trip and driving is supposed to be...

Nordkapp to Madrid Day 7 Honningsvåg to Alta - Moose time

Shortened day to be physically and mentally recharged with proper rest and sleep today. Also to catch up with our obligations, including posting my daily reports which I was unable to do the last two days.

Tarifa to Nordkapp recap and impressions

First I would like to say this adventure was magnificent and I want to thank my son-in-law for sharing my dream, and making it possible. The car never missed a beat, was a charm to drive and made us smile all the way. The charging was faultless, except once at Iberdrola Guarromán, where in...

Tarifa to Nordkapp Day 6 - Challenge FULFILLED ! Another very long day, but finally made it to Nordkapphalle !

Just past midnight, and after another memorable dinner at King Crab House in Honningsvåg, arriving again at closing time. Today, the delays were due to the very low speed limits in Finland and Norway and their high penalties. ABRP was very optimistic in the time taken for each section, even...

Tarifa to Nordkapp Day 5: Stockholm to Luleå - Looooong day due to road detour onto road with about 15 km. of dirt road under repairs.

At least an hour and a half more were added to our trip time. We made it just in time to arrive at closing time for our delicious dinner at CG Restaurant. We were very tired and ultimately went to sleep at 3am after dinner, recharge at a 175kw charger, check-in at the hotel… all this without...
