I restate that I think Viola is an AMAZING color and there is possibly no vehicle that it looks better on than a Taycan. You need to LMK if you ever want to sell it- I'd be willing to trade up!
That is a serious comment---don't forget about me. :)
POST SCRIPT- disregard the latter part- just...
They replaced multiple cells in the battery. The extended time was due to first diagnosis resulted in changing out some cells. Then it didn't test as 100% so they re-ran the DX, decided to replace more cells, etc.
The timing challenges- and my biggest issue with Porsche is that their process...
My (hopefully) final update:
I picked up the car on October 22....and all has been fine since (well, under normal circumstances that would go without saying but in this case it bears mentioning!).
The dealer was great- as mentioned before they have provided me with a Taycan loaner for the...
I know this is a slightly older thread but it’s relevant to me so I’m going to add on here. I am trying to link it to my Apple calendar as well but I do not see the same screen that is shown in one of the original posts here. When I go to settings I don’t see a calendar option. Has this changed?
The car looks incredible. Purple is my favorite color and have always wanted a purple car. I love Porsche PTS Viola Metallic- this looks pretty close to that.
If my Taycan didn't have red interior, I'd consider wrapping in Viola (purple with that much red is a bit too bold for me though!).
Full leather is a HUGE improvement- IMHO one of the best value upgrades. I bought my Taycan used and would not even consider cars without it. Not so much for the seats but for the dasboard and tops of the door paneIs. The interior with the top stitching in those locations looks so much better...
WELL----here we are as of today.
Workscope has been approved by Germany
Parts on order (some of them in already)
Likely that I won't see the car until after Labor Day---2.5 months out of service.
They won't consider it unfortunately...they have a long and complex diagnosis/resolution process that involves the dealer, Atlanta and Germany....NOT the epitome of German efficiency. :(
UPDATE:
As of today, Porsche has authorized the replacement of one of the battery cell packs. No word (as yet) on lead time.
Additionally there was another recall notice (I don't recall what it was for) that will also be taken care of while they have the car.
...this Friday will mark the end...
Close to six weeks and no real progress.
Yesterday, I was escalated to a supervisor at Porsche US (Jeff).
UPDATE:
Porsche Germany has now requested MORE DIAGNOSTICS from the dealer which means another few weeks (my guesstimate) before I even know WHAT they plan to do.. No doubt weeks after that...
The dealer says that they are waiting for Porsche to tell them what to do, meaning what with the will approve. They have been waiting for 10 days so far.
QUICK UPDATE (more later):
Porsche Customer Service has been HORRIFIC.
- they talk to me and say that they will get back to me- and they never do
- they send emails with updates that are not at all accurate according to the dealer
- they don't respond to my replies to the emails
- they put in...
Does anyone else find it curious that the 4S is so much lower than others....and even substantially less than the 4S CT? Why/how would the CT get 20 MPH more than the sedan?
As they say.....'inquiring minds want to know'. :)
LATEST UPDATE: Patience wearing thin
Dealer (who has been very good so far) called me the other day to say that all tests have been done and waiting to hear back from Porsche on how they want to resolve. I asked how long that typically takes and he said 1-2 weeks. I told him that wasn't really...
Surprise (to me) about driving the base model: I am seeing 270-275 miles of range. While I have not taken it all the way down to truly validate, the combo of 'remaining range' and 'miles traveled' on my last few charges have been in this range.
UPDATE:
Status- will have full DX by early next week- to determine how many cells need to be replaced and how long to get the parts
Loaner- swapped out the Panamera 4 today for a base Taycan with fewer than 1000 miles on it. Seems fine so far, but the spec of this car is, IMO, a bit unique...
I definitely understand that process- you are correct. But it doesn't make the customer service experience a good one. I would think that Porsche would assign some value to that.
