I'm scheduled for delivery tomorrow, so barring something catastrophic, the long wait will finally be over.
For posterity:
6/2021 - Placed order/refundable deposit with dealer
11/2021 - Was told I had an allocation
2/26/22 - Order freeze point, shortly before this I started getting automated...
I didn't ask for too many details, but they mentioned taking off the delivery wrapping/protection in the interior and exterior, some tech stuff in the shop to get the car ready for a customer, and then detailing. I will try to get some more detail on the "tech stuff" from my sales rep, who...
Yes. My status hasn’t updated- it still shows on vessel. It also still estimates 7/1 delivery but obviously some data is out of date. My sales rep said they should be able to find out early this week if it needs any parts at port or if it can go ahead for transport to the dealership.
From ship tracking, it looks like it’s now proceeding to dock as per this updated schedule.
An interesting note is that my Track Your Dream page now shows tomorrow as the expected date for port entry, but the delivery date is still estimated 7/1. Hopefully there isn’t a lengthy delay at the port.
Sunshine Ace now docked in Houston! 🎊 The Porsche "Track Your Dream" page has my delivery listed at 7/1, but it also has the Sunshine Ace reaching Houston 9 days from now, so it seems a little behind. Hopefully I'll be a June delivery after all.
Hey fellow CO friends! My Taycan CT (ordered a year ago through Porsche CO Springs) is also on its way via the Sunshine Ace, with the Porsche order tracking site estimating a 7/1 arrival at the dealer. Fingers crossed!
My 991.2 with comfort access does this; I don't think it's a Taycan-only thing. You don't make a motion, you just hover your hand a couple inches above the Porsche emblem for a few seconds and the frunk pops open. It's really nice when you're holding a grocery bag or something since the frunk is...
My order's change freeze is coming up in a couple days! I've spent a ton of time poring over every detail and changing things, and I finally settled on the build below, set for early June delivery. Any feedback is welcome!

It's super subjective, I'd echo others and try to check them out at a dealer if you can. There are lots of people online who say the 14-ways are more comfortable, and lots of others who say the 18-ways are more comfortable. Depending on your body type the 18-ways may be too snug, as well.
The...
That's pretty weird - not that it's an option, but that it can be added later via software. If your dealer is right, then the proximity sensors are already installed in the car, just disabled till you pay for the option and they are software-enabled. Seems like kind of a rip-off if Porsche...
Thank you @louv and @Fitzban! It's funny, it sounds kind of like the electronic sports sound (that you have to option to hear on the inside). I like that sound a lot but I bet it generates the occasional weird look in the city when you're zooming around in your spaceship car. :)
The manual states (per US federal law) that the Taycan plays an "E Sound" externally at low speeds, so pedestrians are made more aware that a vehicle is present. Does anyone know what this sounds like?
Note that it's not the same thing as the optional "electronic sport sound", and I haven't...
