    Comm Module Shortage?

Well, it has finally happened. The Communications Module in my MY2020 4S has apparently fried, and shortly after the WMA5 and WMA7 software updates. Symptoms were no Bluetooth (to connect phones), no LTE (for Apple Music or Google maps), intermittent XM, and GPS putting me in wrong location...

HomeLink programming problem - repeated signals

I have the same problem. I connected an oscilloscope to the gate receiver and pressed the Taycan 'button." The screenshot proves that there are two pulses being sent within one second! Some gates (like mine) respond to the second pulse and stop moving. Others don't seem to mind. BTW, I...

Home link - possible to retro Fit?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was hoping that it would make a difference, but unfortunately it did not. My gate still gets and 'sees' the two pulses and won't close.

Home link - possible to retro Fit?

I now have PROOF that the Taycan HomeLink is malfunctioning by sending TWO RF pulses instead of one. The two pulses are sent within one second, and if you have a gate that responds quickly, it will "see" the second pulse and stop. I attached a recording oscilloscope to the output of the RF...

Taycan 12V drain issues - caught in the act?

I had my 4S die while connected to the PMCC at home earlier this month. I had a Timer and a Home Profile set to charge to 85% by 7:00 AM. I drove it around normally Wednesday, put it in the garage and plugged it in as usual. Thursday morning it was dead. I called my local Porsche dealer and...

Home link - possible to retro Fit?

I had the Porsche guy sit with me to program (train) the gate remote. When prompted, all you do is press and hold the remote button near the PCM for a few seconds until the PCM shows OK and goes to the next step. This is not a rolling code system, so no attitional steps are required.

Home link - possible to retro Fit?

I also have a ticket for a Homelink issue. In my case, I have two openers assigned to the joker button: the gate and the garage door. The door is a rolling code and functions reliably. However, the gate is a simple RF trigger, and has issues if two trigger commands are given within a set time...

Any Taycans in Dallas/Ft Worth TEXAS?

I took delivery of my Volcano Gray 4S on June 6 from Autobahn in Fort Worth (Code PL5JCRL3). I live on the west side of FW and have seen a white Taycan driving around here sometime, but that's about it. There's hopefully going to be a Mavs and Mochas in Montgomery Plaza on September 12 and we...

    Texas Residents Electric Vehicle Rebate

I submitted my paperwork last Tuesday (8/11) in Fort Worth and it still has not been delivered to Austin! All the tracking shows is "In Transit." And by the way, the paperwork is not simple to do, either. It required original signatures from the dealer.

Inside of an ABB Terra High Power CCS Charger

No, sorry, I didn't. All the tech would say was that #2 was having some issues.

Inside of an ABB Terra High Power CCS Charger

I was cruising by Sam's today as the Electrify America chargers were being serviced. Being the inquisitive sort, I invited myself to chat and take a few pictures of the guts of these Italian-made chargers. I have attached the pictures and some info from the abb.com web site. The DC Cables...

    Where's the WiFi Menu?

Thanks for the reply! The good news is that the WiFi menu has come back again. The bad news is that it disappeared at all. This is one of several 'glitches' that pop up from time to time. Hopefully, all will be addressed as Porsche irons out the software.

    Taycan charging with low-end plugs

Thanks for the reminder about the GEN2 pulling up to 32 amps. I'm not sure how much of a problem it would be in the real world, but I'm going to get the TT-30 adapter anyway. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with those of us new to EV's.

    Where's the WiFi Menu?

OK, I'm going to try reaching out to the forum members again. When you hit HOME, then Devices, then the ellipses, do you get three options: Phone Settings, Bluetooth Settings, and WiFi Settings? When I do it there are only TWO menus: Phone Settings and Bluetooth Settings. There is no WiFi...

    Taycan charging with low-end plugs

Fantastic! Thank you for that useful information. I have just ordered a NEMA TT-30 to NEMA 14-50R Adapter from EVSEAdapters to throw in with the TeslaTap, Tesla Gen-2 mobile charger and adapter set in the frunk. All RV parks that offer electric hookups have the TT-30 receptacles, and quite a...

    Electricfy America charging tips

I'm not surprised, Toby. I've called about that EA station on two different occasions. The nice lady always says they'll send a technician out, but they never seem to be working. I suspect that EA looked at the usage (which I'll bet is pretty low), and decided it isn't worth it to have more...

    A/C On with Car Locked?

I've had a lot of problems with the Connect app, so I was wondering if there might be a way to set it up from the car. How do you use the Connect app,? Set a new emobility timer, perhaps? Thanks!

    A/C On with Car Locked?

Sorry if this is a knucklehead question, but I was wondering if there is a way to lock the car and keep the air conditioning on. As temperatures are rather toasty now, the ability to park the car, go shopping, and return to a cool car would be really great! Thanks!
