Welcone back, Singularity! I have a 2020 Taycan 4S too, but I have not made up my mind what to do with it. It only has about 14K miles on it, so I could probably enjoy it as is for several more years to come. On the other hand, replacing it by a new Macan EV is also an appealing prospect...
Yes, the fact that one can easily swap out the cord for a NACS one later is a major benefit. The connection mechanism which secures the wires looks really sturdy and inspires a lot of confidence.
ChargePoint Home Flex - I was surprised how clear the installation instructions were and how solid it was built (as compared to the Porsche EVSE with its flimsy cables).
Just charged my 2020 4S with Plus battery to its usual max SoC of 80%. Guess-o-meter now projects 256 miles of range (i.e. 320 miles when extrapolated to 100% SoC). Normal mode. A/C in Eco setting. The car has about 14,000 miles on the clock and - probably important - has 19” wheels. Manual...
Those statistics seem to be legit but the populations compared are not age-controlled or -corrected. Us Porsche owners are on average an older bunch than e.g. BMW owners, which unfortunately may not help our physical appeal. At least mine suffered a bit over the years…
I will at least consider it, but whether I would actually switch is far from certain. The Taycan is such a seductively beautiful car to look at, even though its technology may start to get a little dated by the time the Macan EV will be available.
I received my 4S in October 2020, which makes me a veteran by Taycan standards. Nevertheless, the car continues to delight me. Even after the novelty of brisk acceleration from stand-still wears off a bit, the effortless driving dynamics never (at least into my third year of ownership) get...
Wow, did you get any associated documentation by e-mail or so? Surprised (happy?) to see Porsche evolve its OTA updates from low-impact functions such as map updates to seemingly high-impact ones such as the main battery management software.
Would you not think that synthetic fuel is - like hydrogen for passenger cars - a desperate but futile attempt to redefine sustainable propulsion while keeping some of the old technology alive?
