I have parking assist, but I don't think I have remote parking. So please someone with more knowledge than me enlighten me: am I assuming correctly that remote parking is mainly geared towards being able to park the car in public parkings where there isn't enough space to get out of the car, but...
Why not? With a properly visible disclaimer and a strong user override process in place, why not letting the people taking the risk they want to take?
I agree it's a very risky process. But if someone REALLY wants this and has money to spare, he should be able to do it, for as long as there's...
I can't fathom why faking something that is objectively suboptimal would be desirable.
If I want to row gears and hear the car hitting the rev limiter down a winding road, I drive my 348. That's the real deal, and not this unnecessary travesty. Hell, even downloading Assetto Corsa arguably...
I agree I had the car only since October last year, but I've put already 22k km on it, so I'd argue that's given me a bit of a glimpse on what the ownership will be like. And so far, except from the navigation issue and the 22kw OBC crapping out, it's been literally stellar and without a fault...
Mine is at the dealership receiving the update as we speak.
After this is resolved, I swear I am extremely happy with the car, electronics and all. Sure it could have a few extra goodies in the way of features, or a bit better range, but overall I am super pleased and wouldn't trade for many...
I was this weekend at Le Mans and saw it driving around the paddock. I was surprised, because I haven't liked ANY BMW design for the past 20 years. But this one was quite the hot sauce.
If they release it with 1000+ hp, like their previous concept, I'll be game to pick one up once depreciation...
I'd be less worried about replacing the battery, and more about our cars no longer being able to connect to Porsche connected services.
Even though I am quite sure most batteries will hold well, these can anyway be replaced if needed.
But connectivity is a whole different animal. Two limiting...
Always off.
Unless we're talking about emergency braking, it's me who decides how and when to brake, not the car. Braking unnecessarily is suboptimal and pointless, and that doesn't sit well with me.
That said, of all options, I find the auto mode particularly annoying. I value consistency in...
Just be aware that simply plugging via USB might not be sufficient for CarPlay to work in wired mode.
Wireless mode will kick in the moment a successful Bluetooth connection is established. So if you want to force wired mode, you’ll have to remove the Bluetooth connection to the PCM in your...
And also, CarPlay audio integrates quite well with the PCM displays. So there’s no obvious benefit in using the native app.
The only argument is that wireless CarPlay compresses audio. But that’s easily resolved by using wired CarPlay.
My biggest hope is that this update is to rework the whole OtA process, so that starting from now, we are able to receive more frequent and comprehensive updates without visiting the dealership. There's nothing I dread more than that.
