I bought the Porsche plan - mostly because I got the Mission E wheels, which are reported to be really easy to get curb rash, costing a lot to fix. The plan covers curb rash as well as tire issues (as I understand it).
Well, here she is (2022 Taycan 4S) - picked up yesterday!
FWIW, it arrived at the dealer only 10 days later than the original estimated delivery date, and 11 days before the latest trackmydream estimate.
Very happy with the color and wheel combination!
BTW, the interior (Limestone...
I haven't seen any red covers that look remotely like Cherry Metallic, but I think this comes closest. And I was relieved to see that it's for "Men Women". ;)
I would absolutely jump to the GTS. I'm guessing that most or all of that price difference will be made up in higher resale vs. the 4S. You loaded your 4S build much like I did, but mine was locked prior to the GTS being announced. (In fact, mine just arrived at the dealer!) I'm sure I'll love...
If it isn't locked yet, the performance choice I'd make is to order a GTS instead of 4S. For the difference in base price, some of which is offset by standard options on the GTS, I think that's the biggest bang-for-buck thing you could do...at least IMO (my 4S will be here in a week or...
Congrats! She's a beaut! I agree that the Mission E wheels are worth it. It'd be a beautiful car without them, but they are truly distinctive! BTW, Gentian Blue was my favorite color, but my wife said "No more blue cars for awhile!" So we went with Cherry, which I also love.
As for estimated...
I was on a plane sitting next to a Costco exec a few years ago, and was discussing how I go into Costco to buy batteries, and come out having spent $500. I suggested that their motto should be: "You could go broke saving money at Costco." He said they prefer "The more you spend, the more...
It's a very strange market, but seems to directly reflect supply and demand. Capitalism is pretty consistent in that regard with hot merchandise in limited supply, whether it's Beanie Babies or Porsches. If you aren't willing to wait until the supply is plentiful (which could easily be a year...
I’d just go with standard brakes for my 4S, but you have to get at least PCSB to get the Mission-E wheels... And I've gotta have those! So PCSB it is! ;)
So...if PCCB are totally useless in a Taycan, what about Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB)? Do they have any/much utility, or are the standard brakes all you need? BTW, I'm talking about a 4S that will NEVER be driven on a track. TIA.
Ice grey was my favorite for awhile - slightly more silver than white, but less silver than silver (which seems to be the color of every 2nd or 3rd car in the universe). Ultimately, however (with input from wife), I decided that if I wanted something that close to white, I should just get white...
Order placed for a well-appointed ($147K) '22 4S. I was waiting to order a '22 Turbo, but the dealer is yet to have a slot - they're having trouble getting ANY '22 Taycan Turbo allocations, :( so I decided to go ahead with a 4S...faster than my old Panamera Turbo, which was plenty fast. Besides...
I've owned for BMWs, including an M5 and M3... Great cars.
But the front grills on these new e-cars are absolutely hideous. ?Their entire design must have been on crack!?
I wouldn't own one of you gave it to me! (I'd sell it and apply the proceeds to a Taycan.)
Yes, this forum claims to be "free," but has turned out to be VERY costly in terms of my original Taycan build vs all of the builds since joining this forum! Then again, I'll be getting a far better Taycan than what I now think of as that original "ignorant" or "pre-enlightenment" build...
