Looking to import a European-spec'd Taycan CT4 to USA

Can't do that. Plug and OBC in EU is different from North America.

UK to Germany, then home via Bruges

Great write-up! I loved reading the personal details. One small nit - "Fuel" is probably not the right term for the electrons you are putting into your battery. I suggest "Total Energy" or "Total kWh" or something like that.

Looking to import a European-spec'd Taycan CT4 to USA

Yep, you can forget about the tariff issues. The 800 pound gorilla killing this idea is that the OBC and charge ports are different. I'd love to take factory delivery of a Taycan, but it just isn't possible to charge a US car in the EU, and vice-versa.

    Damage to underfloor protection

I suggest doing something to plug the hole prior to dealer repair/personal repair. I personally don't want water where it shouldn't be.

WSJ - EV Batteries Are Defying Expectations After Hundreds of Thousands of Miles

This article is in the latest Wall Street Journal is good news overall, and the SOH chart aligns with my experience - I'm on the "Low Frequency" curve for DC charging. (The link above is to an Apple News article - I don't currently have a WSJ subscription, but it is available at this link on...

'26 Slate Grey Neo Taycan Turbo - Satin wrap, Turbonite wheels, gloss black accents, Uniden R9w radar install

I use a VIOFO A229 Pro two channel dashcam, and the behavior is the same. For me a dashcam is only needed after an event has occurred, so I turn off the WiFi connection from the dashcam unless I want to go back and look at something (a rare event). At that time I simply turn off BlueTooth on...

    OTA Update - WTD4 - Battery monitoring

Same same... "High-voltage battery control unit-WTD4" was installed 2 days ago with no hiccups. I can't find anything else online that specifically says what this addresses. My car is MY 2021 4s. Curious if they took the opportunity to fine-tune anything about the PCM...

🔋Analysis of J1.1 with original battery and with .2 replacement

OP - You have inspired me! I’ve known a few “gearheads” in my time, but I think you may be the first official “volthead” of my acquaintance. Keep up the good work!

    Steering, Suspension squeek/noise

I’ve listened to your audio and watched the video several times now, and it appears that the squeaks repeat at roughly the speed of a single rotation of a tire. I would have someone outside the car listening for the sound, and have them listen to each corner of the car separately. If you can...

2027 Taycan gets E-Shift, larger battery and much more - new model year!

I don't speak German, but the driver is obviously having a lot of fun 😀

    Celebrating 3 years with Taycan

Great post and overall summary of your experience. I'm 5 years with my 4s and couldn't be enjoying it more. I think the depreciation philosophy that you articulated ("Depreciation is obviously brutal, so the intent is to keep it as long as possible and think of its value to be zero by 100k...

Porsche just needs to give up on any advanced software features

Yep, I've had the "strange directions out of nowhere" happen to me too when using Porsche navigation. I also believe that cellular connectivity might be to blame.

[opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche _IS_ in trouble… [⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO INSULTING / POLITICALLY CHARGED POSTING]

@daveo4EV - I get that you’re sad, and I appreciate the Porsche is going through a difficult time, but I’m just not getting why you think Porsche should or will leave the EV market. The fact is that European laws are not going to change anytime soon. Have you read the news about the heat dome...

Porsche just needs to give up on any advanced software features

So I’m sure you already tried the Two-Finger reset and that didn’t work. However, did you try anything else? How about resetting the PCM to Factory Settings and then testing the charging General Profile without logging into your My Porsche account? Did you consider disconnecting the 12V...

Porsche discontinues Cross Turismo variant in US

@MoniqueDenver - you just won my very occasionally awarded "Simile of the Day" award for comparing 21" wheels with stilettos. Keep up the good work 😀

[opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche _IS_ in trouble… [⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO INSULTING / POLITICALLY CHARGED POSTING]

I don't think the rebalancing of production necessarily means higher prices. When Porsche went public they set the expectation of increased production and scaled up accordingly. Unfortunately the sales didn't follow, and so they now had costs (including headcount, inventory, etc.) that simply...

2027 Taycan gets E-Shift, larger battery and much more - new model year!

Nope - I was confused and have corrected my post. The additional range is apparently a result of "Summer Range Tires" for 19" and 20" wheels, and possibly other performance tweaks.

2027 Taycan gets E-Shift, larger battery and much more - new model year!

CORRECTED Took me a while to get through the 5 pages of this thread, and I'm surprised how little discussion there is about the larger battery (105 kWh), 320 kW DC charging speed, and better overall range (700 km/435 miles). This is very important to me since the heart of the fast charging...

tire life, battery life, depreciation, and the small things

Porsche repairs are expensive in general. I would get a Porsche Platinum Extended Warranty before your current warranty expires. See this post for a competitive price, but also check your own dealer to get a price. Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate 😀
