Haven’t confirmed my order as yet as passed on the January build slot I was offered (have paid full deposit already though).... need to call in to dealer again in the New Year; a March or April build slot would work well for me..... I’m pretty settled on my spec myself
I looked at e-tron and...
Have to say finance cost difference has probably convinced me to go for it (from initial viewpoint of it not being necessary for my daily use / @ £4.5k a lot for not much more range / power); i think it makes about £1500 difference on the finance quote I got from my local OPC when you factor in...
My accountant confirmed that you’re correct BIK is worked out pro-rata on a daily basis...... my OPC still had 3 February build slots available so managed to get one!:like:
I’d planned to call in to Leeds again next week anyway, so will see what they have to say....... I expect the delay will affect all dealers in the UK the same way unfortunately
BIK is currently 16% until April 2020 (then 0% first year) - so on a £100k Taycan you’re looking at saving about £6.5k on your tax bill (assuming 40% tax payer)l by waiting a month......
Is your dealer happy for you to delay until April? I had to turn down a January build slot as I was told I would have to take delivery in Feb / March....
maybe consider comfort seats as it includes driver memory package plus 14 way adjustable seats (including fore aft head rest) electric adjustable steering column and kerb view parking cameras to protect those alloys!
I have to say I’m very sceptical about the dealer chat about how you must add certain extras as it’ll affect the resale valuation and is what buyers will be looking for - if you want the performance battery for the extra power / range then go for it irrespective of what the dealer tries to...
My dealer (Leeds) said the exact opposite! He thought it was very expensive for the range increase and didn’t suggest anything about resale (he did say this about lots of other options people would expect on 2nd hand)
I think a lot of it boils down to how you use the car and what other vehicles...
I’m base in the UK and do not see the point of performance battery plus for my daily commute and the fact we have a large ICE SUV for any longer family journeys.......
522bhp will be fine for my daily driving and i don’t think the range boost warrants the price IMHO
The current UK price excludes uk gov grant - this and the EV charger installation grant have not yet had a decision by OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles)..... there is no reason to think the Taycan won’t qualify for both given all other purely EVs do
Has anyone managed to get an insurance quote from any insurer yet on the Taycan? All the uk comparison sites / insurers I’ve tried say they aren’t able to provide a quote yet......
