there are way way way better EVSE's (40 amps) for way way way less money - personally anyone who buys a Porsche EVSE is a poorly informed consumer.
the $200 Tesla Universal Mobile Charger + TeslaTap is a way better choice for a mobile EVSE - and it won't melt or cause problems and is not...
this a great review and I agree
one thing about phone-as-key - you need to carry the credit card key with you for two reasons:
valet - you can't/won't give your phone to someone else to take your car - car wash is good example (dropping car off at service)
dead/broken phone - battery in phone...
It's better in every single way
umm no..
it’s still CCS1 with no supercharger access yet
and OTA updates are still a fantasy
and it’s PCM software is still slow and takes forever to boot and launch apps
innodrive still sucks
and the backup camera aspect ratio is still horrible
mechanically i’m...
i think they can’t run the OTA hardware off 12v power safely for a longer duration update and dying in the middle is bad juju - left hand didn’t talk to right hand - they sourced a pretty low capacity 12v system - the early problem with 12v drain demonstrate the car can kill the 12v in about...
it's also worth noting that even "notifying" customers that there is software update possible is new territory for Porsche - which used to treat software as something you do "in addition" to physical maintenance (ie. you're in for an oil change and we'll also update the firmware on your lights)...
apparently one of the reasons OTA updates are so far and few between is that you need a stable external power supply while the update is being applied - so to apply and update you need a few things:
PWIS dealer service computer
your PWIS needs to have "live/authorized" access to germany during...
Porsche's idea of OTA updates is that you receive an eMail telling you to take the vehicle to the dealer so they can install the software - the notice is OTA - the actual software is monkey's with stone tablets's uising a 1978 epson parrallel printer cable…via an ODBZII adapter - the monkey's...
I can see this and understand the perspective…EV ownership is a problem without reliable fast charging - EA's mismanagement of their charging network is doing lasting physical, emotional, and physiological damage - it's a shame really - because EV's are really no problem _IF_ the charging...
also item you are selling (if North American) is currently under recall and Porsche recommends not using it until it's been "fixed" - this item is not usable by anyone buying if if they follow current instructions from Porsche as part of the recall - so you're selling a $750 paperweight given...
what region of the world
this is a $3200 item if/when you sell/trade the vehicle and buyer/dealer demands it - this item is listed as part of standard equipment on the vehicles feature list…but good luck with sale
this is ridiculous on the face of it…
every one know electricity comes from rainbow powered unicorn tears turned in hydro power
magic fairy dust - that’s just stupid
PCCB's should not ever wear out on an EV w/regen unless you are aggressively tracking it
rotor's on PCCB's last forever unless you track the vehicle
I would be unconcerned about PCCB's on a Taycan and I've owned several track cars w/Porsche PCCB's - I'm well aware of the costs and _WHY_ you...
i wish to say things but claim nothing and make sound like it’s meaningful without divulging any specifics. Announcements live this are 99.9999999% meaningless but are made to shore up the ego of the VP who made the meaningless stuff happen

1 of 2 checks received for a Tesla Universal Wall Charger
check #2 pending (I hope).
check received for 1 of 2 recalls - (2020 Taycan & 2021 Cayenne) - Taycan recall complete and $600 check received for a Tesla Universal Wall Charger
2021 Cayenne recall check still pending - no auto-response - but eMail was submitted same day as Taycan recall eMail…
TBD…
1 of 2 complete.
Units can be on any size "breaker" you want - all the units are hardwired (normally) - in my case 2 units are hardwired, and the 3rd unit is NEMA 14-50 plug based via a heavy duty NEMA 14-50 "oven" electrical pig-tail sold on amazon - units from Tesla only come as hardwired - but other posts...
not that I'm aware - the new Macan EV has this option in North American configurator (eMobility section)
.1 Taycan does not have it
.2 Taycan North American configurator does not offer it…and it's not listed as 'standard equipment'
people who have tested it show that it does not work unless your vehicle/manufacturer is "authorized" by Tesla - to date only Ford/Rivian products will successfully start a charging session at a supercharger.
when the charge session is initiated (either by plug&charge or app based) there is...
