Hi Anil, did you find a way to charge the car between these times only (regardless of the level of charge at 4:30 am?) I assume anyone using a PMCC and Octopus Go tariff would find this useful
Hi Carl,
You'll find that it's not possible to use an extension lead such as the one in this link beween the PMCC and your car. The male end of the extension lead is designed to plug into a female port in an unthethered charging point (one with no cable attached). When you plug the male end of...
I didn't have the Porsche card at the time so just used contactless - respect to Gridserve - as long as you know the credit card used and date, you can download a receipt (no data protection BS!)
FYI - I'd emailed Porsche support some while ago (before seeing your post) to ask if there is a way to add the address of 'non-Porsche' chargers to the car's navigation system. I was called by a very helpful lady yesterday who understood the issue, but confirmed that there is no way to add...
I decided to try my first charge away from home at Gridserve in Braintree, Essex. I grazed a few kW from about 50% SOC to 60%. I used. 350 kW charger. I was only connected for 7 or 8 mins. (max rate about 100 kW) An excellent facility. I hope this company has a successful future ahead of them.
My problem here in the UK is that stations installed by significant players such as Shell (for example) are not found when searching for ‘any nearby chargers’ (they are missing from the search returns). It would be advantageous if charging points that the driver knows about could be added...
Thanks, from what you’ve said it appears that the issue I’m facing is with the Porsche Charging Service database. At about 35 seconds into the video you’ll see the search results that appeared after the ‘three button menu search’ showing chargers that the car knows about that are closest to my...
Hi @evanevery, thanks for this informative post. I’ve followed your suggestions up to the point where I need to convert charger addresses. Have you found some sort of ‘Vulcan nerve pinch’ to unlock a hidden menu or am I missing something obvious? Perhaps the PCM is different in the USA. I’m in...
I was told that my car needs to be registered and taxed and before 31st Dec to avoid any increase in tariff. I’d have thought any tariff would be triggered when the vehicle clears customs at the UK port. I suppose this is uncharted territory. Does anyone have a view on how this works?
For a UK plate try Nick Fletcher of Motoreg ([email protected] Tel: 024 7640 7604) I found him very pleasant to deal with; he sourced a plate for me at much less than offered by others.
Having moaned about Apple for years I’ve transitioned to the ‘evil empire’ from Android (the slightly less evil empire in my view) just to take advantage of Car Play when my car arrives; it’s a bonus that wireless charging is supported too. Apparently I wasn’t THAT concerned after all, and...
Same here, order confirmed on 8th Sept at Porsche Cambridge; car scheduled to leave factory on 27th November so there is a chance I might just get it before Christmas.
Mine is a 4S Dolomite Silver / red leather, but 27th Nov is the day when mine is scheduled to leave the factory... hopefully it will arrive before Chistmas.
