I have 'fixed' my pigtail using #8 wire and the charger and the plug and receptacle are significantly cooler. The heat generated in the wire will also heat the plug and charger and cause the charger to overheat. With this fixed and the charger no longer overheating I was then getting...
I made new cables from the receptacle to the charger and from the charger to the car using #8 wire. The temp dropped over 30 degrees F at the receptacle and over 70 degrees F at the car when charging at 40 amps for 3 hours. I am hoping for # 8 wire and not just a sensor.
first... We have grid tied solar so it is far cheeper for us to charge from the solar than from the grid so there are many times that I want to be charging with 40 amps because we have sun. I set this on the charger using the 'slider'. 30 amp charging did not overheat the car or charger, 40...

45 minutes on the track driving hard, calipers got warm to the touch. Handling is incredible. You'd...
My wife just picked up her 4S. We live in Aiken, SC and are thinking of planning a trip to Dallas. Looking at the suggested route of going up thru Nashville, yikes, we wondered can you travel via Porsche dealerships. We were told we can charge at the Porsche Dealer for free and it's 350KW...
