Just to say, noting we collected our Taycan’s from the same dealer at similar time, while I had the update you refer to a couple of months ago with no issues, our dealer is now able to offer the major software ‘uPdate’ (as it’s being labelled) from this week. They expect to need the car for 48...
Just to add some further perspective from the UK….
Last month, my neighbour’s Mercedes’ recently new estate vehicle was stolen in dawn twilight at around 4am by a 2 man gang. The whole episode was caught on my CCTV (happy to post if anyone would like to see). Both the speed and brazenness were...
Someone mentioned earlier in a post on this thread that Porsche GB had said that having the car serviced outside of the U.K. would invalidate the service warranty. I’m no lawyer but, I think that’s not the case. The warranty contract is I believe with Porsche GmbH and is global subject to the...
Does anyone know where there is an info resource available listing which Tesla sites are open to use by other brands? Will Porsche charger planning software be updated to reflect this? Perhaps forum members from territories where the Tesla pilot has been longer running could advise on this?
Huge thanks for this! This is where forums come into their own.
Do dealers not realise nowadays that enjoying margins far richer than they should be v competitors can come back to bite and is far less easy to get away with?
I still think change is coming. We are living in times where demand...
Personally, I think you’re overreacting. The Taycan uses a standard P Zero, which can be swapped for a Michelin variant. It’s not a Veyron using bespoke tyres.
If I may ask, what’s your rationale for switching to a Turbo from a 4S? Real world, there’s little noticeable difference in performance and the waiting list, given the factory shutdown and waiting list, is likely going to see you waiting 12 months. New model year Taycan’s typically launch...
It shows how mad (first world problems mad I hasten to add, unlike people losing lives & homes elsewhere en masse right now)things are getting when Tom Hartley currently have a delivery mileage 22 plate Taycan Turbo on sale for ~£160k! Granted, that’s screen price not deal price but crikey!
Be...
Glad you’re enjoying your new car!
I’d be surprised if a Porsche dealer would agree to fit tyres not supplied by them. I’d expect a high street tyre merchant to be significantly cheaper. However, would I personally trust them to understand to use lift mode and not make contact with the battery...
Pleased with the new car and the spec I went for. Thankfully, this one works! Yet to really drive it, since it’s been receiving PPF this week.
I’ve had Mission E wheels on both my Taycan’s but have only covered 2000 miles collectively across the pair. Hence, couldn’t really gauge tyre wear...
Congratulations! Are you pleased with it?
In defence of your wife, it is a very wide car and takes some getting used to if spatial awareness isn’t your strength. Most UK drive throughs are out of bounds if you want to avoid kerbing your alloys with the Taycan, as can be a lot of multi story car...
Thanks Soawjo.
Now collecting mine on Saturday. Was offered Friday collection but now likely flying back from New York Friday so Saturday will suffice.
Can anyone tell me what are the benefits of activating this service? I was surprised to find this buried within the option menu of the My Porsche web app (not the iOS app). Do you need the 7Gb data per month data package option selected for this to work? It seems to suggest that it can reduce...
