My OPC is about 50 mins away. The issue I had locally was finding a ramp wide enough to jack the car up. You need to ensure you take the car to a centre that can handle class 7 vehicles. The jack points are on the outer edge due to the battery and many MOT centres simply do not have the ramps to...
My understanding, and please correct me, is that with IO you have to be charging the car at the same time because the cheaper charging is somehow tied in and connects to the car or certain chargers. I do not have to charge my car every day or every other day so the extra hour with BG c/f...
The trouble with Intelligent Octopus is that you can only use it to charge a car whereas Octopus Go you can use it for anything as long as you have an EV ie Solar Battery system or any appliance.
I have just moved from Octopus Go to British Gas - same rates and slightly cheaper standing charge...
Just been looking at my local OPC in relation to their cars for sale. Cannot believe the number of Taycans they have available - 0 miles new at first registration (Taycan and Panamera in the main but also Macan and Cayman). Presumably cancelled orders due to high interest rates affecting...
Hi - I retrofitted the front Porsche DashCam - expensive but it is okay.
Be careful about hardwiring a 3rd party Dashcam as it is likely to invalidate your warranty and they may get funny as regards applying recall updates as well. You can hardwire it into the rear 12v socket and that is fine...
I extended my warranty for 3yrs when the car was in for its first service. I have had some warranty issues the cost of which would have made me wince if I had to pay. The vent servos (over engineered) stuck and the windscreen and dashboard all had to come out just for two servos. As I am keeping...
Mine has been back from the OPC about a month having had the dash and windscreen taken out to replace both vent servos - now the heater has packed up - 11000m Dec 2020.
Told battery okay. Heater issue is more complicated. Servos were re- calibrated but it worked once the stuck again on the passenger side delivering hot air only. To replace the servos the whole dashboard needs to be removed as well as the windscreen so not getting the car back until next Tuesday...
Currently at OPC. Problem is more complex. Battery temperature management seems to be all over the place. 40 min journey and battery temp drops from 9 degrees Celsius to 6. 80 min journey at 70mph temp rises from 1 degrees Celsius to 5. The outside temp was 6 degrees Celsius. Battery fast charge...
I have the same issue. Car was booked in for its first service pre Xmas but was cancelled due the courtesy car sudden not being available . Has been re-scheduled for late Jan.
They think it might be a stuck servo. The servo on the drivers side stuck the previous year but blowing cold air...
The Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 works with iOS. You get a warning about "High System Voltage" as outlined above. The key to getting the dongle to work seems to be going into the ABRP app via settings and making sure the Bluetooth slider is green.
Car back following WNJ8 update and PCM connection now possible. New layout looks quite good. When you get it back you do need to check all settings as some have to be reconfigured.
Glad to see your Connect issue has been resolved. I hope to get my car back tomorrow following the same update. Have already noted a green connection on My Porsche app which is promising.
I can still see the Taycan Wi-Fi but to be honest have never connected as I use a 4g wireless hub inside the car if I want connectivity. Will get the car back hopefully Wed eve and will post an update then.🤞
There is a recognised issue at the moment affecting some Taycans including my own a Dec2020 build. See:
[SOLVED 09.07.2022, Europe] Porsche Connect Network Problems [2nd UPDATED!!!]
Car booked in for Monday to try and resolve the Porsche ID connection issue. Will include the WNJ8 update - coloured icons and all that - will report outcome and hopefully it will get sorted.
I have been asked to book the car in for 3days. Apparently a hard reset is time consuming and I suspect I will lose all settings! It does not sound like a remote fix is possible - sorry.
