Hi i agree that the windows have a demonstrably negative impact on phone reception because as you say the signal improves on window opening.
The impact of the glass roof is harder to judge because i dont know if its a similar double layer construction and you cant remove it ! (obviously)...
Yes now you mention it a lack of a physical connection seems hard to fathom . I am wondering if anyone sells/installs booster equipment in the after market
hi the extract from the handbook only talks about a bluetooth connection for this benefit with a usb connection not being necessary - and on my car it runs Apple Car Play with just a bluetooth connection. I have tried both with the phone in the craddle to see if it makes any difference to phone...
thanks skier - the handbook clearly says that there is an antenna for the phone when its in the charging stowage - see my other post to Jhnenson29 for more.
Hi Thanks for question and apols for typos - currently have covid but not too bad.
its a 2020 car with a glass roof. I did hear someone say at the dealer that Porsche had to disable the antenna as it interfered with something - possibly a military issue ! (No Russians here ....Yet!)
But the...
Reception in my Taycan in the uk is very poor with frequent dropped calls. It is as though the dar acts as its own faraday cage. Can anyone comment on this from the handbook - which does not deem to work in my car.
This is a great report thanks for taking the time to do it.
I have been putting off taking our Taycan to France but did recently take our Mercedes GLE hybrid down there. One day I will take the Taycan.
Researching it ahead of this I already discovered that the in car navigation system is...
Hi we live at the top of a hill where the only way out is down a hill and have a house in the French mountains where winter tyres or chains are a legal requirement. so been using winter tyres for a while on all our cars. There are some good sites to look at. Eg mytyres.co.uk or...
Hi Kingske and others
Also a one year 4S owner with a fairly extensive list of options and also generally happy with the car. Over here also residuals are astonishing - I guess the chip shortage has some benefits! Just ordered a Mercedes GLE de and already being told it may arrive minus some...
Peter, what a great set of posts.
i have a 4S and we have a house in the uk and one in Meribel in France - a roughly 700 mile/1120km journey, generally on excellent French autoroutes.
i have not yet done this journey but i have tried to programme it into the car system. It rapidly became...
On the question of heat insulated glass and mobile reception interference.
My Taycan has heat insulated glass. For some time now mobile reception in the car has been poor with many dropped calls. My daughter told me the other day to get rid of the car! Rather than take her advice immediately I...
They should fix the ridiculous sat nav route planner which is beyond attrocious. Wont even pick their own ionoity fast chargers in Europe. On a 700 mile journey it was planning one stop of 1 hour 41minutes! A better route planner had ALL stops on the journey adding to 1 hour 31 minutes.
BTW...
yes. I agree the option cost mounts up. My personal choice was to leave off rear wheel steering, PDDC as the car handles v well with its low centre of gravity. Actually the PDDC keeps the car so flat it made me feel ill when i tried it and apparently the engineers decided to dial down its...
Hi The HUD has quite a bit of info including the semi autonomous drive systems, lane keep, innodrive, speed, speed limit, nav directions (but not apple car play nav systems like Waze, google maps) incoming telephone calls and is configurable with other info. What it does not show is night vision...
