I've received a couple of recent e-mails direct from Porsche regarding the heater recall. My issue is that I've also received written notice in the mail regarding the battery cell problem for which parts are not yet available as well as the recall on the 220V cable for the charger for which...
@Sidicks, I also feel your pain. I had a very similar experience last year. Ran the left front through a pothole full of water in a shady spot; virtually invisible. The tire began to lose air immediately and I limped to a nearby parking lot where the auto club (AAA) flat-bedded me home. I...
I agree. I use Auto mode most of the time. My problem with Recuperation mode is that not only does it feel unnatural to have the car slow significantly every time I lift off the accelerator, but it is actually less efficient than coasting due to energy losses in the regeneration process. Auto...
Sorry for the late response. Just saw your post.
The Taycan 21" wheels are 1.5" wider front and rear than the 19" wheels and 1/2" wider F/R than the 20's. Wider wheels allow wider, lower profile tires. Cornering grip and handling response are improved with wider tires, but I don't think there...
Porsche isn't the only manufacturer that is deleting the electric steering column over supply issues. I have a 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate pickup about to be built that comes with virtually every available feature as standard; except for an electrically adjustable steering column. I was told...
I've not compared 20's to 21's so I don't have any input to that part of the discussion. You already determined that you prefer the ride of the 20's.
Just to add my own subjective 2 cents, the 21" Mission E's are the wheels that belong on the Taycan and are the best looking of the bunch...
I've not had the kind of loss you refer to.
For example, I last charged my 4S to 80% about 10 days ago. For various reasons, I've not had an opportunity to drive it since then. I just went out and checked the battery level and it's at...80%.
We also have an Audi e-Tron SUV. It gets driven more...
You say that you get only 160 miles and drive in Sport Plus mode on your long distance trips. I get the appeal of having access to all of the power all of the time, but you would be doing yourself a favor in steady state driving by using range mode. Also, what kind of cruising speeds to you...
First, I think it's very unlikely that an electrified Macan will be anywhere close to $60K. That said I'd go for the quicker version. We have an Audi eTron (which, BTW, is a $75K vehicle just for the sake of comparison) that gets around 230 miles to a charge and have never had a real issue with...
I can't go back and revisit the exact wording in the now closed survey but IIRC the 3 options you describe are pretty much exactly what they were implying in the question.
The question started by referencing existing HP figures and stating that a potential On Demand boost in power would result in a 0.2 second quicker 0-60 time. I think that was just for a reference point. Since we already have launch control my assumption (hope?) was that this possible new On...
Just a quick follow-up re: an On Demand performance update. I received another Porsche Driver's Council survey today and it asked just 2 questions. A) As a Taycan owner, would you be interested in an On Demand feature that improved 0-60 time by 0.2 seconds and B) If interested would you prefer...
It wasn't made clear whether the feature would apply to existing models or only future builds. Because the survey started by asking about level of interest in existing On Demand features I kind of inferred that they were testing the waters on adding new ones that might apply to current models...
I get surveys from Porsche every so often as a member of the Porsche Driver's council. Today's survey was about existing On Demand features like InnoDrive and LKA, what I knew about them, what I thought about them, whether I had purchased them, etc. Near the end of the survey, they asked about 8...
FWIW, I've ceased wondering whether the PCCB's on my car stop better or improve ride/handling due to reduced un-sprung weight or have better feel. The fact is that they look absolutely stunning behind my 21" Mission E wheels. I've never for a second regretted spending the extra money to get them.
Well, my reply about claiming to always use the Porsche charging equipment was tongue in cheek ;) but, to be honest, I'm not too worried about this issue.
In practice I agree with you here. It's unfortunate, though, that the written reply from the Porsche rep (not the specific warranty language) didn't state what you just stated; instead making a pretty clear assertion that using a third-party product would void the warranty. Period. Typical, I...
The letter says definitely that "the warranty would be compromised using a 3rd party charger" but then goes on to refer to the warranty specifying that damage will not be covered if it results from "unauthorized access to vehicle data or software from any source, including non-Porsche parts or...
I have auto regen selected in my individual drive setting which is the one I normally use. My experience is that the car will still coast under most circumstances yet will slow automatically when approaching other vehicles without having to apply the brakes.
