  1. Taycan no longer - long live Taycan

In one of his recent vidoes (about charging a Ford lightning on a supercharger), Kyle Conner mentioned that most Tesla V3+ superchargers do support the same certificate based plug and charged protocol (ISO 15118) as EA (but also support the legacy Tesla method which i believe just uses MAC...
  2. (TRADED IN) :: 2021 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo - Neptune Blue (Ohio USA)

Totally agree...and other VAG cars offer that option as well. Our ID4 also has the blended brake pedal (I think pretty much all EVs other than Teslas have that setup), but I still prefer to drive it in its "B" (one pedal) mode. The main excuse I"ve read as to why the Taycan doesn't offer much...
  3. (TRADED IN) :: 2021 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo - Neptune Blue (Ohio USA)

Makes sense.... like you said hopefully the AAOS based system in the Macan EV will fix many of the deficits in the current PCM. Disappointing that the facelift Taycan will not get that system however. Agree on recuperation (or specificallly lift-off recuperation)-- wish that Porsche could just...
  4. (TRADED IN) :: 2021 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo - Neptune Blue (Ohio USA)

Yeah- i've noticed that some dealers (mostly in the midwest and south) price their Taycans aggressivley and sell them quickly. Meanwhile, on the west coast, dealers seem happy to ask ridiculous amounts, not negotiate and let cars just sit on their lot for months. Very odd. I recently picked up...
  5. (TRADED IN) :: 2021 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo - Neptune Blue (Ohio USA)

Right - it’s so much fun creeping along in stop and go traffic. Wouldn’t want to miss out on all that driving engagement!
  6. MY25 CT Turbo S ordered

I missed that update...of all the changes they made this is the one that excites me the most! LOL
  7. (TRADED IN) :: 2021 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo - Neptune Blue (Ohio USA)

Nice car! Pretty much my perfect spec (weirdly hard to find Taycans with adaptive cruise control which is bonkers to me. Not sure why you'd buy a 100k+ car without that). Looks like they already sold it. What did you trade it in for?
  8. Base loaner vs GTS

Yeah, I'd say its split maybe 80/20 with about 20% of reviewers saying its underpowered for the price. Then again, there's always a Porsche premium when comparing any Porsche to many of its competitors. In a weird way, I kinda like how spartan a base Porsche can be....reminds me of how all...
  9. Depreciation, I lost money, I’m crying

Based on your description it was probably Matt Watson from Carwow...
  10. Lectron NACS to CCS1 adapter

This is a very good point that I think often gets overlooked. There's a difference between having a NACS port (or adapter) and having access to Tesla's supercharging network. Just having an adapter isn't sufficient for Tesla supercharger access since the latter requires Tesla to grant access.
  11. Taycan TV Commercial on Sunday Night Football

I’m surprised that they don’t seem to offer any substantive incentives and the money factor that Porsche FS uses on the leases is among the highest. Rather than spending millions on an ad like this wouldn’t they be better served offering more appealing lease terms?
  12. OK so I picked up my Taycan in January 2022 so now a year and 6000 miles old. Likes mainly!

Have to admit - in my head that color combo sounded odd but it’s pretty cool in the pics.
  13. Used 4CT Feedback Request -- Bellevue WA & Deerfield Beach FL

oh it resets to GMT as well! (credit for consistency there). Almost like the car is saying "if you're not going to drive me I'm going back to England!" Atleast I'm well prepared for all the software quirks i'm sure to encounter if I bite the bullet on Taycan ownership. I guess I should be...
  14. Used 4CT Feedback Request -- Bellevue WA & Deerfield Beach FL

Yeah- modern cars are very indeed very sensitive to having their batteries run low. I've never heard of a car losing track of its key fobs though. Our Land Rover likes to do more playful things when left for a week or more like resetting the language to UK English, changing the gauge cluster...
  15. Used 4CT Feedback Request -- Bellevue WA & Deerfield Beach FL

Ha- legal disclaimer noted. That's great to hear that you haven't experienced any scraping yet. Now that you have the CT, how many times have you driven your Allroad? As for the CT at the Mini dealer, I continue to be tempted. It's got the "minimum spec" that I'm ok with (primarily adaptive...
  16. Used 4CT Feedback Request -- Bellevue WA & Deerfield Beach FL

Amazing thread. I just spent an hour reading the whole thing like a thriller novel. I’ve definitely fantasized about “surprising” my family with a Porsche so hats off to you Jonathan! I live in the PNW and laughed at the “let me do my job“quote. Typical PNW customer service. Also surprised you...
  17. Welcome to Normal Depreciation

Gosh- I really wish I could find these amazing deals on used Taycans here in the US. Maybe its cause I'm looking for Cross Turismos, but it looks like you get very little discount off original sticker here. Look at this car- pretty bland color combo, no adaptive cruise control and the dealer is...
  18. Life's too short...

I think the Porsche is its own thing...you buy it because you love it. If you're shopping in terms of "specs per dollar" than yeah, something like a Tesla will always beat it. But, if you'd be happy with the Tesla than I'd say dont even waste your money on a Plaid. Just get a Model 3 or Model...
  19. [Perspective] - A happy Taycan owner road trip’s his Daughter’s Model Y…

Had a similar experience with a RWD Model 3 that I rented in LA this past weekend. Supercharging is easy, ubiquitous and relatively quick. The car itself does pretty much everything you need from a transportation device. And, yeah, an EV drivetrain is superior to probably 90% of ICE...
  20. Sudden Massive Depreciation In Used Value

Yup. Totally agree. I'm surprised too by the amount of people who seem to think that cars shouldn't depreciate. With any expensive luxury sedan, you're very lucky if the residual after 3 years is > 50%.
