2025 Taycan is revealed and everybody seems to either be all gushy-gushy or horribly depressed because their car stopped having any value.
But…
What’s missing? What were you looking for that Porsche didn’t deliver on?
We need to start complaining now so Porsche has time to fix it on the next...
I know this comparison has been covered numerous times before and I'm probably not noting anything 100 other people on here don't already know, but I'm adding my perspective anyway.
Background
I have both a 2021 Taycan 4S and a 2023 911 GTS Cabriolet 7MT (manual).
I had the Taycan for around 2...
I saw this guy driving around this past weekend.
If I saw this a year and a half ago, my first thought would have been:
“Woah…that guy has a sweet trampoline.”
But now, my first thought is;
“Bro…that thing is killing your range.”
The longest trip I ever need the Taycan for (and I knew this when I bought it) is 244 miles round trip. My goal was to be able to do this without public charging.
Seemed reasonable.
Today, after over 13 months and over 13k miles, I finally had to make the trip.
And the Taycan did beautifully...
Sorry if this has already been posted before. I haven’t seen it and didn’t find it with a cursory search.
But I just happened to be on the vehicle settings screen today while driving and notice the spoiler on the car lit up blue.
A few tests showed that it was indicating when the spoiler was...

How are yours configured?
I sent @Administrator a message asking about this a while back with no response.
I thought I’d see if there was any other interest.
Would anyone else like to see support for LaTeX added?
Occasionally, discussions get more technical and I think it would be helpful.
I found the below add-on...
I went out to the garage today to find my 18kW Wall Wattz EVSE powered off. ?
It’s been charging for 6000+ miles prior to this, problem free.
I checked the breakers and everything looked okay.
I checked the voltage on the line wires for the EVSE, and everything looked okay there also.
So...
Story time.
So, we’re going to my wife’s mom’s house today. And my wife made a casserole. And she took it over in a shallow, open pan in her lap. Great idea.?♂️
Two seconds into driving and I’m getting yelled at that the casserole is sloshing around and about to go everywhere.
And for the...
I was driving home today and actively flipping the overrun recup on and off and was just wondering how other people are using it.
I think it’s a really great tool; I just wish it was slightly easier to reach. I have to shift my hand slightly to reach it.
I generally drive with it off and turn...
My wife and I had to drive somewhere separate today because I had to leave early for the airport.
So, I spent 45 minutes following behind watching her drive the Taycan.
I had a several observations.
She drives with a light foot in normal….and still smoked my Macan S the whole trip. She wasn’t...
This is mostly referring to the use of Profiles and Timers.
I’ve seen a couple of recent questions so I thought I’d post a summary of what the car will charge to in all scenarios.
I think a majority of the confusion comes from wanting to just set a maximum on the car, but there’s no way to do...
GM’s using hairpin windings with a mix of induction and permanent magnet motors.
It’ll be interesting to see what different manufacturers do and what trends in the coming years.
I would guess it’ll continue to be mixes of technology for various trade offs. Manufacturing costs, size, power...
Only answer if you have the optional Thermally & Noise Insulated Glass.
I’ve seen enough posts to motivate me to make a poll and try to get some data.
It definitely seems like I see people without issues have glass roofs. But let’s see what the data says.
Not exactly Taycan related, but maybe of interest.
I went to PEC Atlanta today, partially for my birthday (38 tomorrow) and partially to test drive cars since they’re MIA at the dealership.
Plans:
I had a 9am session in a 718 Cayman S and a 2pm session in a 911 Carrera S. I intentionally...
