NHTSA reports over 40 Taycan 2020-21 owners have reported serious issues, most involving bricking.
For 2020- 2021 Tesla S, they have 25 total issues, all little stuff, none involving the electrical system or bricking. And of course there are an order of multitude more Teslas out there.
Well as Dean Neal wrote when he reviewed the Taycan: "this car is SO GOOD it is 5/8 of a Tesla". Which means you are paying a huge premium for one thing: The Porsche Marque.
And for heaven's sake: Porsche can't even handle OTAs.
The other turn off of the Taycan: claustrophobic interior...
I’ve driven a Model S since 2013. The company is A PAIN IN THE ASS to deal with but the cars are beyond spectacular. It would be impossible for me to ever drive another ICE car. But I was excited to move to the 4S and ordered one. But after reading of all the software issues and the hapless...

Having driven Model Ss [2013 S85, 2017 S100D] for 8 years and dealing with non stop issues, and a horribly unresponsive Fremont, NO. Everyone hates the Yoke, the new MS has no Sat radio, no CTW, no heads up, horrible BSW, WAY overstated range. Test drove a Taycan Turbo for 400 miles and it...
Big mistake to accept and pay for something you never ordered. All you had to say when she said you had no choice was “excuse me while I phone my lawyer, And please give me time to post a review on every website I can find about your unethical business practices.” You would’ve left with your...
Arizona here. Dealer gives me a print out showing the complete schedule. This is updated regularly. My date of completion has now slipped by four weeks to June 25 and they admit this is no more than an estimate. They have no idea when the car will be completed. This is all caused by chips...
It's pretty simple! If the limit changes to 70 from 50, if you are going 55, hit the lever 4 times to increase in 5 MPH increments to 75. Speed distance control is then working .... the vehicle will automatically slow if needed and then automatically go back to 75 when clear.
Can’t find it. You are probably right. Only thing you can do is set the max speed (eg, speed limit +5) when the limit changes. This is obviously not optimal when there are frequent speed limit changes, but it works well on motorways and road trips. It’s what I always did with my MS.
"The only meaningful dislike for me is the lack of relative speed for InnoDrive."
See p187 in the 2021 Taycan Owners Manual. Its easier with the MS, but doesn't this do it...
Yep. Tested a Taycan Turbo on a very range demanding drive we make regularly in our S100D - 200 miles, 6400 ft vertical climb. The Tycan easily matched or bettered the Tesla. And the 4S had better range than the Turbo. I ordered a 4S and sold the MS.
Your list is sooooo accurate.

The overreaction of cruise/AP to a car pulling in front or across. You get used to this one but it's still unnerving when a car turns across your lane hundreds of feet ahead of you and no human driver would even consider slowing down but Tesla slams on the...
I did a real word world test and was blown away. I have been driving an MS since 2013. My last one was a 2017 MS 100D. We have a vacation home 200 miles away, a twisty mountain road drive with 6400 feet of vertical climb: very range demanding. I would always charge my MS to 100% and drive 10...
I am in process of doing the same thing, for the same reason. After eight years of driving them, I Just sold my second Tesla, an S100 D, and have ordered a 4S for July delivery. I have a very demanding 200 mile drive to a vacation home we make we make regularly with 6400 feet of vertical climb...
On a new build 4S end of March I got 1.5% off MSRP from one dealer and 2.5% from another. The GM of one of the dealerships made it very clear that the discounts would be larger on an inventory car. If you live in a metro area with multiple dealerships, there can also be a big difference in...
I ordered one and from two dealers competing got 1.5% off MSRP from one and 2.5% from another. This was at the end of March, and the GM made it clear that they would be much more aggressive on discounts for a car in inventory.
