I have seen a few garage door openers enclosed in a tub similar to what's pictured below here in Houston area (after a few cutouts have been made for the track and wires to come out the sides):
My perspective is that when you traded the car, they gave you a number based on how that car sat when they valued it. If they didn't request and you didn't promise anything else, then nothing else is owed.
With that said, the Porsche EVSE is worthless - use this opportunity to get rid of it.
My experience was identical to this. My PMC+ worked great for about one year, then it started to get charging failures overnight. It didn't just run hot, but actually shut down charging because of the heat, so my car was not charged in the morning. I have all the right spec equipment -...
This all makes perfect sense - until that next charging station you stop at with only 10% SOC is down and not working. With EA in the US, that's a really strong possibility.
When you show up to charge at 40% SOC, you have many more options to try and find a working charger.

I agree! Also (and you may have said it earlier) who knows what station was available when the guy in the ID4 arrived? Maybe the 150W stations were all occupied, and the 350W was the only one available?
I just give people the benefit of the doubt.
The refund option would be difficult for the owners with the PMC+, since this was the included charger, not an optional "extra" with a specific price associated with it.
This was my experience as well. My PMC+ worked perfectly for over a year and nearly 20,000 miles of charging, and then it started to overheat and not complete a charge. When it overheated, then J1772 handle was hot to the touch. I had to reduce it to 50% in order for it not to overheat.

You can tell by the size/shape of the burnt 14-50 receptacle that it is not the industrial version that should be used for EV's. It's the regular Commercial type. See pic below.
