I went. ChargePoint as well. Really nice unit and the cable is really really nice. I need to process my paperwork, but have noting but trust that they will process and repay.
I wish the car showed the max rate it can do… I was at a BCHydro and the station showed its max, but the car did less.. so never sure what is going on. :/
measure vs replace!! I wont change parts until they wear out.. dealer years ago on our cayenne wanted to do pads and rotors on all 4 corners! the pad warning light didnt even go off yet - why have a light? all it needed was front pads which i did myself - bought a caliper for measure and keep...
thanks! the bellingham one is always busy and you get lucky not having to wait. Petro Canada has a great network on the other side of the border - love the idea of installing at a gas station with the services around them
Interesting and thanks for sharing! The constant load for long periods is def new for existing circuits. I only do this on trips but will keep an eye on it
With the slow charging + 20min 50kw charging while I was sorting my skis and another charging opportunity I’ll be topped up for my drive back home! It’s better than having my family wait for charging in the car which is the only thing they don’t like with our EV road-trips.
On road trips I have been charging with an extension cord and normal plug. Charges at 1.2kw and usually get 12-15% overnight. It’s slow but always impressed with how much it gets! Do others do that? My thinking is that people don’t know how good it is! Will def cover my daily drive from our...
Why doesn’t the battery temp gauge have a mark for optimal battery temp? Internet says 88F/31C - our last roadtrip I remember always being above 88 and charging wasn’t hitting max station speed - I wonder if that was the issue? And why was overheating an issue in the winter below freezing?
if they can be put on then they can be taken off - just think its how invasive it is - do you need to access from underneath via the headliner. I think you will get used to the look after a while. We use ours to mount our roof box for the ultimate roadtrip wagon weapon
So the Macan EV has a smaller footprint but 300lbs heavier. That surprised me. The battery is a bit bigger and it doesn’t have the transmission. Is it just the battery? Taller vehicle? Heavier/cheaper materials? Interesting. I’m also curious if it can hold the same cargo - those specs are...
Here is my data - Scenario is that we just did a trip from Seattle to Bend OR - route was through Salem and then across the 20 pass.
To Bend - Weather was FULL BLIZZARD through the hwy 20 pass
- 361 miles, 9:12hr driving time, 40mph avg, 1.7 mi/kwh - used 212kw total. ~2.1hr charging
- Temps...
I think the order is backwards. Charging infrastructure is what needs to improve - the others I don’t see drastically changing. Can they put chargers at all the gas stations? I just did an extreme trip from Seattle to Bend OR. Very cold and blizzard. 10hr drive. 2.5hr charging. I need to review...
