I must admit, I am not looking forward to paying for gas, the 3-years of 30-min free charging was awesome and didn't have to worry about any running costs.
I guess I should have explained better, my wife has an X5, however my daughter is also in competitive sports, so we are never in the same...
This thread is ironically the exact opposite of my situation. I travel a lot for my son's sports as he is on an elite travel team and not just locations around the commuting distance of my home. Not to mention having the family get back into skiing and going up to the mountains.
The former, was...
yes to this as an alternative if you don't want studded. A buddy of mine got these in the R3 (don't think they made the R5 last year), but they had the crystals in those as well and I can say they are 'almost' as good as the studded, but laterally the studded really grips better. I can say they...
go 20" and add these: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/new-winter-studded-tires-installed-initial-review-us.8568/
It turned my Taycan into a snowmobile! I had sooooo much fun, I can't wait to put them back on and have it snow again.
Mine goes to 24kW and it must have got the update via web. Currently it defaults to 12kW every time I plug in the car and I just have to wait for it to connect, then go into 'adapt charging current' (second screen down on the settings) and dial it back up to 24kW every session.
I have changed...
I have been off this forum for a while and just checking back in. I have a MY21 with the 19.2kW option and went through the software upgrade this summer with the new colored icons. I have plug'n'charge activated by checking the box in the settings and it has worked flawlessly at every EA station...
I had a blast last winter with studded snow tires on. Outperformed every Jeep and Rover I passed by on the daily. It was very rare that the road would not be at least plowed low enough to get over with 'standard' ride height. I think I had to raise it only once all winter.
Here is my review...
go 20" studded.....you will feel like you are driving a snow machine :)

"we already have apple carplay and we will build on that" :CWL:
as if this is a major milestone! this whole article makes me laugh and frankly feel a little ashamed at the lack of technical prowess that I feel Porsche has after reading this
just me, but if you are playing around with shades of black, why keep the red calipers? If there was one thing I would do differently it would be to black out the calipers. Otherwise, I actually think keeping the red calipers begs for some red accents.....somewhere (stitching, etc.) and at that...
As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
So, I am throwing it out there to see if anyone that has the Turbo Aero S wheels actually prefers the Turbo Aero Wheels and wants to trade?
If so, I am happy to pay for shipping of mine and yours for a swap.
For those that don't...
happens all the time on the highway, not at stop lights (thus far).....they tailgate, then fly around, then slow down in front of you to a speed slower than the speed limit trying to get you to pass (to just get to speed limit) then accelerate....its super annoying when you don't want to...
I started with a question asking for clarity of my assumption, then clarified how I felt on that assumption.....I personally don't see that as jumping to conclusions.
Pot, meet kettle.
you missed the whole point of my argument. That is that Government got involved to mandate a product....ergo, government now must get involved to mandate a service to the product that they are mandating.
I am not asking to rely on government, nor do I think they should have mandated the free...
@mdrobc1213 what did you choose at TAG motorsports, was it just the 'customer painted parts package' and then you let them know what pieces you want painted? How much are those 4 little parts, painted?
see @Pozuelo post on actual/real-world consumption vs. what it calculates at.....if I am reading that thread right, our PRIM doesn't calculate properly and is assuming more conservative consumption than actual, which will cause many of us to run out of juice, despite having PRIM say we will make...
so you are saying that it is less efficient than it is calculating? This might explain why people are running out of battery when their PIRM is telling them they can make it and is not just explained by higher speed or a heavy foot (which if it was 'intelligent' should calculate based on past...
