Agree 100% - I leased my Taycan on the recommendation of the dealer who said that in 3 years the Taycan will be much different than the one I leased. Let Porsche have the risk.
100% on target. I was going to buy my 4S - the dealer said with the rapid changes in technology I was better off letting Porsche Financial take the risk. I'm OK with that - I think in 36 months the new Taycans or whatever they will becalming them by then will likely be getting 400+ miles per...
Had mine updated on Saturday. 1 hour total. Porsche wants to control updates to the powertrain, so this update requires a trip to the dealer. Fortunately my dealer is Champion Porsche in Pompano, so my wait time in their Cafe was very pleasant. Even the latte was good. Please note that...
Had my update done on Saturday. It took 1 hour. Be advised that there are TWO possible updates. If you car has not had the earlier massive update - that one takes 4-5 hours and can be clunky.
The update for the recall that just happened is 1 hour.
Sorry for the sideways picture but this is pretty typical of what I got from EA on my 2500 miles road trip. And make sure you call EA and have them reset the charger if you aren't seeing at least 150 when you first start charging. The EA Customer Service people are very friendly and helpful...
Another blue one for this thread. I went with the matching wheels - wasn't sure about it when I ordered the car, but glad I did. Was very worried about the white brake calipers, but not a spec of brake dust to be found. First Porsche I've owned that didn't make a mess out of the wheels.
Funny - been wondering if others had the same trouble. I also get a warning on the screen to "check my satellite antenna" - been looking for it....hmmmm....don't think I have one.
I had that happen to me once on my trip. A lot of this could be programming. I changed a lot of setting on my car and you have to make sure your car and the EA and Porsche connect apps are set up the same way. Once you get the kinks worked out you will be fine. And there is nothing else that...
Funny - never felt that way. This was an adventure. I am the last person who you would have thought would buy an electric car. I'd never buy a Tesla - but when Porsche decided to build the Taycan I figured it was worth trying. My Salesperson suggested that I lease it, rather that buy it...
I had to call EA twice to re-set chargers that were not working right or were every slow. Their Customer Service people were very nice and helped. If you plug in and are not seeing 150+ speed, unplug and call them. No sense sitting there for 45 minutes to charge. Most of our stops were 20-25...
Difference is very simple. Tesla is a tech company that decided to build a car. Taycan is a car company who decided to build an electric version of a car. Philosophically from two different worlds.
I'm here in Boca Raton and I find the AC works great. Definitely keep it out of RANGE mode. I run it at AUTO and let the computer do the cooling. Do play around with the vents - it makes a big difference where you have them aimed.
I just took my 21 Taycan 4S on a 2,500 mile road trip from Boca Raton, FL up to Ohio and back. I have the standard battery, and 21" aero wheels. Cruised the entire trip at 85-90 mph. This is a very natural cruising speed for the Taycan - very comfortable at that speed. I stopped only at EA...
