Steering wheel position oddities — camber, alignment, or RAS? (4S CT, MY25)

Have you had a 4 wheel alignment? If you have it done at an independent garage you will likely need the special tool to adjust the rear toe, VW tool T90009. When the car is off the RAS points straight ahead. My car has RAS and that hasn't been an issue. Aftermarket versions of the tool are also...

Damage to radiator - dealer claims damaged at rear?

Stones can come into the rear side of the radiator from the wheel well. I haven't heard of damage to the rear side of the radiator but the stones often jam the cooling fan. I would buy a lottery ticket.

Taycan ownership trope: are Taycans really split between total lemons vs faultless vehicles?

I've had a few problems with my 2020 4 S. Several are known issues. Heater (2X), AC servo motor failed, HV battery (Replaced with a 2023 version). Late last year the rear motor failed and was replaced, paid for by the aftermarket Porsche EV warranty. There have been many software updates along...

    2025 Taycan Motor Replacement

There was no push back from Porsche as my car was out of the new car warranty. The dealer had to provide evidence to the aftermarket warranty that the repair was necessary. They then approved the repair.

    Bleeding Brakes

Be aware that there is a bit of different pedal behavior from an ICE car as the Taycan transitions from regeneration to the hydraulic brakes. My 2020 4 S is not as slick doing this compared to a 2026 Macan EV I had as a loaner. Your car should be current with it's brake fluid changes as the 111...

    2025 Taycan Motor Replacement

Late last year I scanned my 2020 4S with 41K miles with an OBD scanner. It showed numerous errors. I had been hearing a thunk when engaging Drive and was told by the dealer this was normal. I brought my car to the dealer and they determined that the rear motor need replacement. I have an...

    Zun Sport grills

I have a set on my 2020 4 S. I view them as cheap insurance to keep stones out of the radiators. My dealer has said nothing about their presence on my car.

Will/are Porsche Indies be able to service the Taycan?

The electric parking brake on the Taycan uses the electric motor to actuate small brake shoes inside the rotor like my Cayenne. To deactivate the parking brake so you can change the pads or rotors: with the car on and in park go to the center display and select Vehicle, press the three dots on...

Anyone done DIY brake pads on the Taycan Turbo S?

I am preparing to do this job shortly when my car hits 6 years from the in service date. The torque values I have found for the caliper attachment bolt on the internet are: Front caliper bolts: 74 ft/lbs plus 90 degrees (Stretch bolts, one time use) Rear caliper bolts: 35 ft/lbs plus 90...

Red Ring, no power, thunking rough sound while coasting to stop

It is likely the front inverter. There is a current sensor in there that is failing. I would not clear the codes so the dealer has something to work with. I had this issue once. The dealer wouldn't do anything about until it happened again. So far it is behaving itself. I did have to have the...
