Indeed. I like the old headlights better (understanding that maybe snow collects in the corners) and I'm not impressed by the new flat corners on the front bumper.
But the video is very good and does convince me that both depreciation of the old is real as well as that I need a new one... Damn.
It is influenced by navigation, but as far as I can tell, it's also part voodoo and some randomness.
It's usually 140 or 150 km/h for me, but sometimes it drops down to 120 or even lower. Sometimes not for a good reason.
I always run a GPS app on my phone ("FlitsMeister", with radar and traffic conditions warnings) which is more like 99% accurate, pretty much all over Western Europe. Certainly on highways, but even off.
Google Maps also has a maximum speed indicator that has a similar accuracy, although I don't...
It's horrendously bad. You're better off rolling a pair of dice.
It was even worse in 2021, at least after all the updates it's sometimes correct. But 70% correct is still utterly useless.
Even in Germany.
You can get close to one pedal driving by setting it to "Auto", then it will work on distance sensor: coasting when the road is clear but slowing down (harder than normal lift off regen) when there's a car in front of you.
Configure "Individual" drive mode to have "Auto" and then when you step...
Thank you very much for all that information.
I had my 11kW OBC replaced under warranty last year. I did ask them to put in a 22kW right away, but no...
I too am interested in plug & charge. But probably not $5000 level interested.
I'll carefully ask my dealer again anyway.
Talking of flaky features: I always have a podcast on, so I never listen to the radio. But I'm 99% certain I used to be able to have a some sort of "Media" display in the right dashboard "tube" where I could change radio channels. For the life of me, I can't seem to get that menu anymore...
Excellent summary.
I do find it sad that plenty of people are blindly parroting Tesla fanboy or marketing speak on how amazing and innovative and more efficient their one-pedal-driving is. And, deliberately or not, implying that the Taycan can't do regen at all.
For example: The first thing...
Always feels pretty normal to me. Yes, heavy car. The braking is a bit progressive, so when you lightly touch the pedal, you're not immediately jerking your passengers around. It does have brake assist though where, when it detects that you let go of the throttle quickly and press the brake...
If you have the drive mode dial on the steering wheel, the easiest I've found is to configure "Individual" mode to include Auto-regen. Every time I enter the car, I blindly turn the dial all way to the right and Auto-regen will stay turned on even when then changing to Sport (Plus) or even Range...
This: you get the coasting for better efficiency and smooth recuperation when you need to slow down because there's someone in front of you anyway.
Tip: An easier way to enable Auto (that doesn't require holding a button and taking your eyes off the road to check the dash to see when it comes...
